I don't think Bungie will make a game where people would have had to read the book to get the full experience.
Falls 2010. It would be cool if the game went into earlier missions that the Spartans did before the fall, though.

Did you need to read Halo: The Flood to understand Halo 1?
Good point. I still don't think they'll tell that story again. Halo: The Flood was written by a writer that really liked Halo. A story originally created by Bungie. You think it will turn and Bungie will make a story told by a fan?

You think it will turn and Bungie will make a story told by a fan? But Bungie told the authors what they could and could not write... the games are just as much canon as the novels are (one of the novels was written by the guy who wrote Halo 2 and 3's scripts).
I was saying that the games are more canon than the books. Bungie could still make the game from scratch and it'd be great.

I don't think we will have a literal re-telling of the novels, but I do think we will see scenes from FoR (such as the Spartans' debrief in the PoA as the Covenant arrive in-system) or FS (such as Red Team falling from their Pelican), but I do think that we need a new perspective on the battle of Reach. Luckily for us, there are 14 nameless Spartans on Reach whose stories were untold in the novels... and I bet Sierra-259 and -320 are a couple of them. [Edited on 06.19.2009 5:23 PM PDT]
People see Halo: Reach, and they think Halo: The Fall of Reach.I can't wait for the game to come out and not be about TFoR. haha
I think the game will be similar but not following the book because the author only got bungie's permission its not like they were activly involved

They had to make sure everything was in line with the Halo universe.
Posted by: canguro994what about, they explain only half the story in halo:reach and the other half in halo:reach 2I'm working on a script that would be the first out of a trilogy of REACH games, that would eventually coincide with the Legendary Ending of Halo 3, where the two trilogies tie in together (and with Ghosts of Onyx).;)

I have to agree with MLG Cheewhawa, he pretty much knows what he's talking about and has his facts straight.
