Wait, you actually checked this?

Will you be my friend?

You're worried about how Johnson is using VISR without a helmet, when storyline-wise, Johnson wouldn't even had been there to not use it in the first place.

So you think that even though Johnson has VISR mode even though he doesn't have a helmet makes you think that Bungie isn't going to take the campaign seriously?

Just a note for OP, Johnson will only be for firefight which is not relevant to the campaign.

You never left the crazy train OP.
This.

TBH i'm expecting the OP to reply with something like "you're all butthurt fanboys who can't take that the Halo series is ruined!"

You're complaining over johnson using visr mode without a helmet?

This is why bungie gives responses like they do to the community.

Because OF -blam!-es like you crying OVER ONE LITTLE DETAIL in a game...

Please dont buy the game. I dont need to find -blam!-s like you in firefight...

1. If you are a "true BUNGIE fan", you would remember that this game was announced at TGS, not E3.

2. Really? Bungie's multiplayer isn't being serious in reference to the story line? Because a bunch of Spartans running around in a rainbow of colored armors fighting against each other clearly makes sense, so a survival mode that is entirely non cannon should definately have a bearing on the story.

3. Run that by me again. The story is going to fail because Bungie included a bonus character model for a non cannon multiplayer mode. Ok, just wanted to be sure I was on the same page.

4. Wait. The single player campaign, which features troopers who drop down from space into an open world, night city, fighting against a variety of plasma gun shooting aliens with hovercrafts, is taking a lot of ideas from Modern Warfare?

5. So a business is attempting to reward the customers who actually help them profit, and this is surprising to you? As for everything clearly being Microsoft's insidious plot to out do these various parties, your train of thought is passing through Irrationality. I got off before it went into stating your own opinion as fact.

6. Microsoft has been pulling all of the strings for Halo since it bought the IP, because they are the legal owners.

7. For a Halo game, Halo War's sales might not have been record breaking. But for a console RTS, they were absolutely fine. It's got nothing to do with the developer.

8. It's a strong possibility that Bungie has contracts to fulfill with Microsoft. But you can't be "forced" through increased pay wages. Enticed perhaps, but not force.

9. Aww, you got off right when you said something remotely logical.

Can't believe people are saying Halo is milking it.

When I think of a milked franchise, I think of two games: Star Wars and Final Fantasy.

Halo has served as an example for other games.

Alright, Johnson has VISR mode even though he doesn't have a Helmet. BUNGIE's response to this was ''it's a game, deal with it, he still has VISR mode''. Meaning, BUNGIE isn't being serious about the game's storyline in ODST.
-It's Firefight, not part of any story.
The story's going to fail for this reason, as I think the singleplayer campaign is taking a LOT of lessons from Modern Warfare (an obvious demand by 'microsoft' that halo must take on modern warfare BEFORE It's sequel gets released in November).
-You have no idea how Bungie make games and how it is being made.
Microsoft realized people didn't like to feel all too powerful, and wanted to feel weak and had to use skill and stealth to get through situations, all obvious factors evident in Halo 3 ODST
-Who does not want to be powerful?! Logic Fail.
And now, Microsoft wants to tackle EB GAMES directly as they do not want them to get any more money from USED GAME Sales, since bungie doesn't get any money from it (BUNGIE HAS stated in the past 'we should never stop getting money for a game'). To do this? They take the most popular human, Sgt. Johnson, and make him unlockable in Firefight. This obviously wasn't bungie's idea, at all.
-Smart on their part. Don't buy used games then; you only save around $3.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Microsoft is pulling ALL of the strings on the Halo series from now on. BUNGIE has said ODST will be their last halo game, but now they announce they'll be making 'HALO:REACH' after 'Halo Wars' had HORRIBLE Sales. What does that mean? It means Microsoft realized Halo needed BUNGIE to survive, and now is forcing them, through increased pay wages, to continue supporting the halo series.
-Halo Wars garnered over a million sales a week or so after release. Also, Bungie can change their mind.
Yep. Microsoft is officially milking Halo. I'm getting off of this crazy train before it crashes. Peace.
-The way your mind works it has already crashed with only you on it.

Look at the dashes.

Johnson is ONLY usable in FIREFIGHT which is not Canon (Like Multiplayer). However if that is not a good enough answer for you, then i'll say this. Johnson wears AWESOME Contact Lenses. :D

I was thinking the same about the contact lenses.

and how!

Dear Lord...did you really just say all that?

Were that post a boat on a lake all those holes would leave you at the bottom chit-chatting it up with your new fishy buddies.

Yes, i call it Halo 3 Recon because that's the title they announce it as at E3. I am a true BUNGIE fan, so i'm going to stick by what they called it until (obvious) legal action forced them to change the game's name to ODST

Halo 3: Atlas and Halo 3: Recon were code names for the game...Halo 3: ODST is a title that makes much more sense, you know, considering the fact that it is all about Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. Clearly that must mean Microsoft has taken "obvious legal action" against Bungie studios to change the name to something that would promote Microsoft more. [That was sarcasm if you're a little slow on the uptake.]

Alright, Johnson has VISR mode even though he doesn't have a Helmet. BUNGIE's response to this was ''it's a game, deal with it, he still has VISR mode''. Meaning, BUNGIE isn't being serious about the game's storyline in ODST.

...

This is the part that gets me the most. You seriously believe that? Fans have been asking to play as Sergeant Major Avery J. Johnson since his badass introduction in Halo 1. Bungie added being able to play as him as a fun gift to the fans, and in order for him having a HUD and VISR mode to make sense, he would have to be wearing a helmet. Which would greatly detract from the entire point of his inclusion, not being able to see his face. Not to mention that if he didn't have a HUD or VISR mode, no one would play as him. And for the last God Damned time, Multiplayer has ABSOLUTELY NO CANONCIAL RELEVANCE TO THE STORYLINE. The only things related to the storyline in multiplayer are the characters, weapons, and some of the locations. The situations and gameplay DO NOT need to follow the story. If they did, Multiplayer would have to be Marines vs. Covenant. Only. And that would have no balance were it to follow the story. Gee, that one wasn't obvious. Not at all. [More sarcasm! omgftlulzbbq]

As for "Microsoft trying to steal from EB games" or however you wish to state that nonsense, companies have been doing pre-order bonuses for quite some time. On every console. That has no correlation with Microsoft hating EB games or Gamestop, it is a way for companies to encourage early sales and to get a little bit more money for extras like golden weapons or a special multiplayer character.

The story's going to fail for this reason, as I think the singleplayer campaign is taking a LOT of lessons from Modern Warfare (an obvious demand by 'microsoft' that halo must take on modern warfare BEFORE It's sequel gets released in November).

Once again, players have been asking for more urban combat since they trekked through New Mombasa in Halo 2. Bungie delivered, you found reasons to whine and point your cheeto-cheesy fingers. On top of that, how does futuristic urban combat have ANY relevance to modern warfare? Oh, duh. Marines fight in urban situations. That obviously means Bungie is stealing from the armed forces ideas. [Are you seeing a pattern yet? End a response with sarcasm to point out obvious holes!]

Microsoft realized people didn't like to feel all too powerful, and wanted to feel weak and had to use skill and stealth to get through situations, all obvious factors evident in Halo 3 ODST

You really are just trying to make the kind folks at Bungie [who, by the way, created nearly the entirety of Halo 3: ODST out of fan made requests...] look like ragdolls that can't devise any ideas themselves? Am I right? People want to play as ODSTs. ODSTs are MUCH weaker than Spartans, and hence, need to think about their encounters and gain any upper-hand they can in order to survive.

Hah. That is a good one. Microsoft has been asking things of Bungie since Halo 1, and they most certainly aren't "pulling ALL the strings".

Bungie never once said that Halo 3: ODST would be their final Halo game, they have had Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and their other secret Halo project planned for quite some time now, in fact they worked the rights to those productions into their contract with Microsoft when they sold the IP to Halo over to Microsoft. Halo Wars had "HORRIBLE" sales because it was an RTS game, it sold a lot of copies due to being a Halo game, but it isn't a very serious RTS game, and hence it appeals to Halo fans more than RTS fans. And of course Halo games are best made by Bungie...they know everything about Halo and much, much more. Shouldn't that be obvious?

EDIT: If the creator of this thread actually reads all of this I will be thoroughly impressed, considering he or she doesn't seem to think much about things and just spurts his opinions as absolute truth.
