Subject: So only elites? ...lame much...?

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

Lets just discuss the Halo canon for a moment. Brutes were introduced to us in Halo 2. However, in the books, they were described as being integral to the fight on Harvest. Therefore, Brutes and Drones, despite having appeared in the games at a later date, were still a part of the story.

I don't believe that it was ever said that the fleets assaulting Reach were strictly comprised of Elites, Grunts, Hunters, and Jackals...

Although, it is true that the Arbiter's fleet that followed the Pillar of Autumn to Halo was comprised of only those aforementioned, it doesn't mean every single ship present of the 300 ships invading Reach was only inhabited by those above.

Therefore, I think it is safe to say that we will probably be fighting every enemy the Covenant has to offer. Hopefully it will also open up room for Bungie to allow us to fight something like the Drinol or have an appearance of the Engineer.

With that in mind, its important to note that this obviously is before the changing of the guard. Therefore we probably will fight a ton of elites and perhaps only a few brutes. I still expect us to see every enemy however.

In order to add more variety, due to the absence of the Flood and Sentinels, perhaps there will be sections involving Insurrectionist Human Forces or perhaps some other Forerunner technology guarding the location under ONI's CASTLE Base. Perhaps for gameplay Sentinels will appear there. We have no idea at this point.

It would make sense to see Brutes comprise a small component of the Covenant forces, although they'd probably be in a more specialized role, considering they have yet to usurp the Elites in any roll.

Also, what's up with this "Drinol"? It was removed from the game, and hasn't appeared in any of the books. There are quite a few species never featured, and I doubt we'll be seeing them.

Why can't the sentinals have presence? what was reach before they landed. There must be something significant about reach as to why they made it an outpost.

there were fore runner artifacts on reach. sentinels? almost for sure

It would be good to have:

Elites
Brutes
Hunters
Jackals
Grunts
Drones

I'll agree to this. As for vehicles, would be nice to see a Seraph during actual gameplay (not a cutscene) and the original mining version of the Scarab.

Amen. And a longer campaign would be better to 15 or 20 levels, a Human( 10 levels) and a Covenant(10 levels) campaign...

It is possible to commit no errors and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.

Look at what Bungie remade in the past, beside beaver creek and coagulation everything turned out bad. Halo:CE wouldn't be different.

Oh and you will fight brutes, just because they weren't at the first halo doesn't mean they weren't part of the covenant.

um...... yes it does

Contact Harvest. Read it.

I don't remember anyone saying anything about there not being brutes, sentinals, and flood. if you read the books, it's entirely a possibility all 3 of these could in fact be within the deep cockles of reach's interior.

I'd like to see lot's of different kinds of elites, like the stealth elites and rangers

Brutes ruined Halo. Sure, they were a nice aspect to the story with the whole betrayal of the Elites, but they were boring as hell to fight.

Flood made Halo, but they're getting old. It'll be nice to have a few games without them.

Whoa, ok, that is a great idea. Let me explain.

Ever since my friend's and I beat Halo 2, we wanted to be able to play as normal Covenant soldiers (well... not so much the Grunts, being cannon fodder sucks)., but be Jackals, Elites, Brutes, or Hunters.

Imagine that. Why would you play as the humans? You LOSE. That's like making a WWII game and playing as the Germans or Japanese. It still doesn't change the "prequel" idea because it will be on Reach and we do know how it ends.

You could play as different portions of the Covenant. Jackal sniper team, Grunt squad commander (so you are less likely to die, being that you are a combat hardened veteran), Elite special forces (those black suited Elites) told to find the Forerunner technology and eventually run into the surviving Spartans under CASTLE, and those Hunters that chase Kelly and Fred into CASTLE (both before and after).

As for the Spartans in the banner, those are the "boss" like characters. Those are Spartans that you will run into and will have to overpower, be it with wit (Jackal and Elite campaign) or overwhelming power (Grunts and Hunter).

fairly certain what makes halo halo is the halo rings, covenant, masterchief, forerunners, and flood.

The Library managed to be interesting/challenging using (basically) only three forms of Flood. It depends on an enemy's AI, the situation, etc. The H-3 Brute is almost nothing like the H-2. They might be used as mini boss-like superbads, but regardless, it's function versus appearance. Am not too worried about being bored with any of it.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Well i perfer ALOT more to have Elites then Brutes, the elites on higher difficulties made Halo CE and Halo2 ALOT harder then Brutes would ever do on Legendary, and you know its true, Brutes just cant be comapred to Elites from Halo CE or Halo2. Brutes get boring couse they always have the same wepons(brute shot, plasma rifle, carbine, gravity hammer, fuel rod and spiker), which atleast the Elites carry energy swords, plasma rifle, duel wield wepons, carbines, particle beam rifles(covie sniper), fuel rod, plasma pistols, needlers, are infinitly better at throwing grenades than Brutes, so pretty much every wepon(except brute exclusives) the elites can hold, plus they were smarter and come with better shields(ultras)and are alot more accurate then Brutes. Elites are better than brutes.PERIOD.

yeah, thats what I mean, a game done for the Covenant, Halo 2 maked me love the Covies I wish Halo Reach give me same feeling.
This reminds me of the Iliad (the war of Troy) because you may like the Greeks and the Trojans at the same time.... this is the same.
