Subject: probable reasons for no "kill eachother" multiplayer

1. It would detract from halo 3's multiplayer much more, half the people who buy odst are probably halo 3 regulars.

2. They would have to make maps for both games

3. It would be possible to play game types very similar in halo 3.

But, this makes me wonder, do they want Halo Reaches multiplayer to replace halo 3's?

It's an expansion, not a new game...

I am going to lube your butt hole with nacho cheese and -blam!- you with a crowbar.

Start Co-op

Aim gun at ally

Murder him

Take score.

Why wouldn't there be friendly fire? There always is.

  • 06.19.2009 10:13 PM PDT

Its an expansion to the halo 3 experience, it is in fact a game, people wouldn't pay 60$ for an expansion. Microsoft wanted to charge 60$. This is why bungie made firefight and three new maps, I think they felt bad

It is an expansion still. It is not a full game. It is a standalone expansion.

I still don't see how your statement pertains to my topic.

"standalone expansions" can obviously still have unique multiplayer (firefight) and if bungie wanted to they could have made kill each other multiplayer, but they didn't. Probably for the reasons I posted

stop being unnecessarily mean

You can't tell if i am or am not trying to be 'mean' over the internet as if you could in real life due to the missing inflection of my voice. As for your first line, I was responding to a comment made in this thread that is tied to the original topic, as you did.

They want to replace it because Halo 3's multiplayer will be nearing or passed its third year anniversary. There's nothing wrong with refreshing the Halo series as the did with Halo 2 and 3, and as they are doing with Firefight in Halo 3 ODST.

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

LOL. That's how we do it. Improvise. Besides, this way, no auto-aim. Make way for the ODST Pros.

I don't think they are trying to replace halo 3 multplayer with fire fight, or else they wouldn't release halo 3 maps

A free roam campaign that takes over 10 hours to beat plus a survival mode seems like a full game to me, you have to remember, and game doesn't need to have a vs multiplayer to be a game. I mean look at the new Terminator game, its 4 hours long and is $60 bucks, and its concidered a full game

  • 06.19.2009 10:37 PM PDT

Were it so easy.

I think so!!!!!!

But so what, we want people to stay in Halo 3's multiplayer.

Wow, I had a brain fart in my last post and for some reason thought that this thread was in the Reach forum for just that post. >.<

Why Hello There ;D

If they fear that they made Halo: ODST online multiplayer and is going to take away from Halo 3 multiplayer, why are they making Halo: Reach?

Ah there we go. Read my post a little further up in this thread that addresses this. Why keep something old when you can make something new, better looking, and more fun?

Please consider enlisting in the UNSC's Black Water Ops Program. Led by Recon and featured multiple time in Bungie's Community Spotlight. We have over 4000 members in just over 9 months and we are growing everyday. I hope to see at BWO!

I didn't understand the OP. No kill eachother multiplayer in ODST?

I had said that I was wondering how Halo: Reach will play out, but of course they can't make 2 halo games without directly competitive multiplayer in a row
