PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE MAKING A POST OF YOUR OWN

Bungie has said they can't add any new armour perms or characters to Halo 3's multiplayer unless they made a new disk for it, which they now are for ODST. Why not add upsized( to the size of a spartan) ODSTs to Halo 3's multiplayer with the second ODST disk? They would play just like spartans and just be an asthetic thing.

Now you're probably going "Wow this guys and idiot, people using the original Halo 3 disk wouldn't be able to see those playing as ODSTs."
Well my idea is that the people using the original Halo 3 disk would see all players playing as an ODST as just a spartan with Mark VI shoulders and chest plate and an ODST helmet.

Now I am assuming that Bungie won't do this, but it would be entirely possible and would be awesome if they did do it, what do you guys think?

I wouldn't like it. Halo 3 is all about the Spartans and Elites, ODSTs can star in their own game.

Edit: Upon further pondering this subject, I have came to the conclusion that yes, in fact I would support the addition of additional ODST character skins to relate my in-game character more to my Gamertag.

I read the post, and i think its a fine idea. But would still be kind of hard to program, even on a new disk.
P.S. Why does everyone put a u in Armor?

They can not add armor because it is hard-coded onto the disk. All the information that is used to select and render your armor is located on the disk - the game simply was not designed to allow for new armors to be added. The only way they could add new armor was if they took back every single disk of Halo 3 in the world and added it on.

New armor can not be added for ODST either, because it shares Matchmaking with Halo 3. People with Halo 3 would not be able to render any new armor in the game and would most likely have their game freeze/crash from someone else using an undefined armor.

Maybe because everyone on Earth isn't the same as Americans...

Thats not really a reasonable answer. I asked why, but you went and brought up the race differentiation.

American is not a race, it is a nationality. I can now see why you did not know why color is spelled differently in various locations.

Your soulution to the problem can not work. If Halo 3 can not detect the new armor, it can not make it so you see the armor already in the game. Doing so would involve knowing when the new armor was being used, which is impossible.

it would be simple coding on the ODST disk, it would detect the original Halo 3 disk and simply tell it its a spartan with Mark VI shoulders and chest and an ODST, it would be just like modding in halo 2
