Halo: CE Anniversary Achievement Idea
C-C-C-CANNON BREAKER!
Let Sgt. Johnson die on Halo.

Not everyone has the best connection. In Halo 3's Campaign, if someone didn't have an up to par Internet connection, the game would lag.

Movements, actions, and shots would all be slightly behind while playing online Campaign.

Is the system better designed now, or will we have the exact same problems with Firefight in the new game?

Why Hello There ;D

You would hope so.

Check Out my FileShare.
I was once on Bungie Faves. (Feb.7-15)
I'd like to know why I can't see the signatures of others of myself on the forum. I have made favs once, 7777 campaign kills, and I helped bring modders down when they were at their strongest

CoD 4 ---> CoD 5 = totally different games.

Now I would hope that the Lag is improved, but I recommend that you upgrade your router and internet connection just so you don't have to be "that guy".

Plus you can't host boot Cheiftains cause they'll banhammer you. IDK Why I typed that.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

I hape so.

Good question moondawg, I would hope it doesn't lag slightly because that makes game play annoying bringing down the quality of such an awesome feature.

Most likely the same problems, I bet the thing its doing is making sure the AI is syncing properly. If you'll notice, nobody has been able to make a co-op mod for halo 1 or 2 for PC, and this was because there was no way to make the AI sync over the internet (or even a LAN cable)

I'm guessing halo 3 was just kinda set up to support AI over net (hence the player limit, apart from just game breaking player numbers and things people can do to get where they arent supposed to be.) and thats why latency makes it such a pain. I am skeptical that they can fix that with a little extra work on the engine (if they can though, great job bungie, you've regained my respect)

What I want is a ping counter or something even in co-op, so we can tell who is lagging the game (or if its even ourselves). I dont have a clue why they removed the latency bar for campaign in halo 3.

I hope not. I hate Halo 3's campaign lag. But it seems to have gotten better since Halo 3's first launch for some reason... I remember the first day it came out my friends and I were going to play the whole campaign co-op, but it lagged terribly, even though we were all in southern California.

Yeah, it was like that when I first played it as well.... It's weird since Bungie doesn't have its own servers.

Well since we're not dealing with the same amounts of data as the campaign (storyline triggers, cutscenes, scripted movements etc), it should be much more like H3's multiplayer, in that it might lag if someone has a terrible connection but will generally pretty good.

I didn't think about that. Also, we won't have the "Checkpoint" system where all of the enemies and terrain spawn. I bet that never helped either. :)

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

I would think that lag would deal with the connection, and not with the game itself. As far as I know, a game's software has nothing to do with lag, just how it handles it.

Well, that's what I was asking about. Hopefully the game would handle the lag better once someone starts having a bad connection.
