Subject: No Master Chief

War isn't about who is right, but who is left.

Master Chief is trapped in space. But there were about four to six SPARTAN-ll s left. Maybe they went to look for Master Chief, the Arbiter maybe in the game. Maybe this is a new generation of SPARTANS, a new Arbiter, new AIs, maybe even new weapons. Also new enemies.

MC isn't trapped in space, because Reach is a prequel - it happens before Halo 1.

there are only 3 confirmed Spartan-II's still alive, other than John (MC)
Kelly, Linda and Fred.

However, I do believe that there will be at least one more introduced to be alive at some point in reach, because neither of those three survivors ever hung solo with four marines. (The Banner)

Okay, get rid of trapped in space. He is on Halo. In First Strike, it says that he and two others went to protect something. Linda and the other one ends up somewhere else. Master Chief goes to Halo for the first time. Master Chief left Fred in charge of Red Team, remember?

If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

As far as the book goes, there seem to be about 10-14 Spartans that we know nothing about on Reach. We assume that they are dead because they were sent to protect the generators that gave power to the Orbital MAC cannons protecting Reach. As we jknow, the generators got destroyed, and this eventually led to the fall of Reach. We dont know for sure exactly what happened to them and for all we know they could still be alive.

Also there has been wide speculation about there being another class of Spartan IIs. As improbable as this might be, you cant really shoot the theory down because it could be done. Finally you get the Spartan IIIs from Gamma company that we know nothing about.

Kelly is somewheres else. Master Chief is on Halo, he left Fred in charge of Red Team. In one of the books said that they make a unusual alliance. Maybe a Elite?

what the hell are you talking about?

3 Spartans other than John make it back to Earth. Fred, Will, and Linda. Kelly is kidnapped by Doctor Halsey. John goes off to Delta Halo.

Emergency transmission from Onyx. Fred, Will, Linda investigate.
*Spoilers*
Will dies. Findès kelly, doctor halsey, and a squad of Spartan-IIIs. Go to Dyson Sphere.

thats where they are now.

Exactly. Only one of the characters in the banner is a Spartan-II. Spartan-IIIès look similar in appearance to marines, except when you factor in their camofluage suits, which you cannot see in a sillouette.

Considering neither of the survivors of reach ever hung solo with 4 marines (4 wounded marines hung solo with the wounded spartans, but there was more than one spartan) or spartan-IIIès, this cannot be based on the books stories.

It is a prequel before Halo CE and after Halo Wars. Master chief will appear as well other spartans.

Did you read ANY of First Strike?

It looks like you stopped halfway through the first chapter.

  • 06.20.2009 10:28 AM PDT

Reach takes place right before Halo CE and when I say right before I mean it. As soon as the battle of Reach is over Cheif gets into the Pillar of Autom(sorry if i spelled that wrong), goes into Slipspace and when they come out of it that is the beginning of Halo CE.

P.S.: I believe you may see Cheif but you won't play as him

and how!

Have you been living under a rock?

Halo: Reach is a prequel. Master Chief John-117 was on Reach for quite some time, including during the final battle.

Even if you were right, those Spartans still alive are trapped in the Micro-Dyson sphere that once was at the center of Onyx.

This is a prequal. When Reach fell, the Chief was in space one a 15 minute zero-Gee mission, then he went to Halo (Halo 1). So you're right in that we probably won't play as the Chief, though we will probably see him split the 30 Spartans up in the openning cinematic.

The games contradict all the other sources... or most of the, I would forget about the books at least don't get surprised if the story is different, personally I hope so... If they make a game of already maked story, the game would be boring....

The games don't contradict the novels and vice versa. Bungie practically wrote the Halo novels, why would they not be considered canon?

  • 06.20.2009 11:50 AM PDT

Heres some actual reasoning that alludes to the fact that we won't play as Master Chief:

In Halo 3: ODST, the music they used in the very first trailer was very new and didn't have the same underscores / melodys / WhateverI'mNotAMusicPersonSoHowTheHeckAmISupposedToKnowWh atWordToUse as music from Halo CE through Halo 3 had. This is because Marty wanted to create a new sound for a new protagonist. Given that Reach also had a very different sound than the original Halo Trilogy, I am also guessing that you aren't playing as chief.

I'm just saying, they will change the story, I HOPE !!!
(and yes some things on the book are never mentioned in the games, is like they don't exist, like the other spartans... John is not the only one alive, but in the game he is the LAST SPARTAN.... so, the games and the books are different)
