this just came to me. when you play as the arbiter in campaign, why do you never fight any humans?

I think it would be kind of macabre and inappropriate. A lot of people didn't like Arbiter as it was; can't imagine the response if you had to kill humans to survive. Would go against the whole Halo experience.

Yeah, it would mean that they would have to vastly expand the syles of marines, it would be boring fighting grunt after grunt, and would have to work tons on hostile Marine A.I.
It's 'cos their lazy :p And because of what nestegg said :p

You can fight the Marines once, on Sacred Icon, but you have to grenade over to where they are. Right where the Marine says "Breath of fire, breath of fire!", there is a shaft and if you look across the shaft to the other side, there are Marines. When you get over there you have to save the Marines by killing the Flood but then the ungrateful Marines will try to kill you.

Rofl, all this time I had it wrong. I get the words on some rock songs wrong too.

This. The Marines wouldn't stand a chance. Unless you gave them the same response as when you start killing them with MC. Then you'd just get wrecked.

This is starting to sound like a womyfts challenge - see how far you can go killing everything in sight.

Yeah, I think he plays that way on a regular basis, Legendary and maybe Mythic skull to boot. He's crazy, won't leave until all enemies are dead.

Thanks for the hat tip nestegg......I do very much enjoy killing everything that there is to kill!

My big problem right now is that my disks (both CE and H2) are in bad shape and I cannot get half of the levels to load, I keep getting the disk is damaged please press A on your controller. Bummer!! I have not even turned on my xbox in 2 weeks because of it :(

I realized that I never replied to the original post earlier DOH!

I would guess that playing as the Arbiter early on and killing Humans would have made it more difficult from a storyline sense to then have the MC & the Arbiter working together later on. It was a difficult partnership even without the MC & Johnson have to stomach the knowledge that their new ally had been wiping out Marines just a few hours ago (even though he had been doing so on Halo).

Sometimes I questions plot turns in the game, but I never questioned this one.
