I think that it should, and I made a thread about this back when the game was first announced:
I think the Legendary ending would be something like this
(I am going make up a name for the ODST soldier we are going to play as, Bryne.)
*Credits end*
10 years after the war with the Covenant.
*Screen pans to our planet: Earth*
*It shows a neighbor hood*
*Kids are running around in the street*
*Retired Sergeant Bryne is laying out on a chair, taking in some sun, while watching his kids and reading a newspaper*
His wife calls him from inside the house, "Bryne! Phone for you!"
"Ok, just a minute!"
He walks inside and picks up a phone, "Hello, who is this?"
"This is Colonel Sevens, and I have something very good news."
"What is it, sir?"
"We just got a transmission from the Elites, they found him."
*Ends*
As much as I think that would be cool, I think it is unlikely. And when I said "found," I meant that they got Cortana's transmission that she sent out, and they know what planet they should go to. Also, I know most of the colonies were glassed, but if someone can give me another one, that would be great.

I got an idea.
(I don't know anything about bases or commanders in the Halo Universe, i just play the games lol)
Instead of showing earth on the surface, it should show a planet from a space view .
10 YEARS LATER will appear in bright white font in the black of space.
In the space view a transmission will begin:
the transmission will begin with static and slowly move into a message:
- I think I got something sergeant. (A lot of static is heard in the message)
- What is it?
- It looks like a damaged ship. (The broken ship comes into view. A different ship also comes into view and is flying around the damaged ship). Should we take a look inside?
- Let's
Scene ends.
