I'd like to see many Campaign/Forge specific weapons.

Things like:
-BR55/MA5B w/ grenade launcher
-A new plasma rifle, Grunt or Jackal plasma rifle. Used by high ranking jackals. High rate of fire, similar overheat to regular plasma rifle and weaker.
-Hunter assault cannon
-A smaller gravity hammer used by high ranking non-chieftain Brutes

Please, God, no gravity hammer.

And why would you want a grenade launcher on a single handed weapon? What would be the difference between the launcher and just throwing nades?
The grenade launcher would have direct impact detonation giving them a unique function. And its campaign only.
If it's campaign only, I'm all for it.

I could see how it'd be really overpowered in MP, though.
Special weapons would make the campaign much more varied and fun. The weapons would also be able to be placed in Forge but never on ranked or default maps.

I actually agree with a lot of what you said
If dual-wielding is kept than make it so that DW weapons are more powerful and accuratealone but innacurate when dual-wielded
The MA5K idea sounds great
I personally like the Spartan Laser, I think it takes skill to use and wasn't overpowered.
The Missile pod idea sounds great
An idea of mine (for anyone who says the gauss hog is overpowered) is to replace it with a hog with a mounted Spartan Laser. It would be fairly hard to use while moving and wouldn't be a -blam!- cannon like the gauss turret was.
I think that an SMG of some sort would be nice to fill the roll of the MA5B from H3
I would like to see the flamethrower more often in multiplayer.
Covenant weapons sound good but having the carbine would be nice.
Also it looks like Reach will take place before Halo CE so... there might not be brutes.
If there are, then great. The spiker idea sounds good but it might be better with burst-fire rather than single shot (like the Gorgon from GOW 2). Pinning bodies to walls would be a cool feature.
If there aren't brutes then maybe a covenant shotgun would be in order? It could fire needles like the needler but it would spread-fire a few at a time that would be devastating at close range, the needles would then explode though.
That's all I can think of for now, I'm sure Ill have more ideas later.

Covenant

Beam Rifle: Can fire 3 quick shots a little faster than a halo 3 carbine with a 1.50 second cool down and each shot uses 5 charge energy. Also I think it would be great if Bungie added weapon attachments for all or maybe certain weapons. You would press left on the d-pad when you pick up the attachment to add the attachment to the weapon and again to take it away(attachments don't come with weapons). The beam rifle's attachment would allow it to charge before firing. You hold the right trigger for a little over a second then it will start charging. It takes 3 seconds to reach full power at which the shot would be at least 10 times stronger than normal. The beam rifle has 100 charge each fully charged shot uses 10 charge energy(extremely long range).

Needler: Take away tracking, but make it much more accurate and fire 3 rounds a second. The shots move twice as fast and takes 6 shots planted in an enemey till "boom!", and it has a 48 round clip. Shots can bounce off of objects and still exlpode if 6 needles get planted in a player(medium range). Attachment would give it a scope, make it single shot, and give it a 10 round clip. It fires as fast as a carbine and each shot explodes on impact, and each shot flies as fast as a brute shot grenade. (medium- sub long range).

Plasma pistol: Its max firing rate is cut in half and tracking is taken away, but since it's plasma each shot will do damage for 2 seconds since it would continue to burn. And a charged shot would instantly deplete a normal shielded players shields and burn for 2 seconds till dead from burning. It's also more accurate(medium-long range).

Plasma Rifle: Each shot does less damage than a plasma pistols shot, but it fires faster and each shot also burns for 1 second(medium range-sub long range).

Plasma Grenade: Should have 3.50 times halo 3 blastradius.

Carbine: Each shot does damage for 1 second(medium range).

Fuel Rod: Each shot travels faster and shots don't slowly fall over distance. Blast radius twice as large. Attachment would make it fire a continuous beam which after 1 second would do as much damage as a spartan laser(sub long range).

Energy sward: Holding right trigger will charge the sward and increase range by 3 meters when fully charged. Sward shoots sparks and glows bright white when charging. It takes 3.50 seconds to charge fully at which it does 5 times as much damage. And pressing the (B) button repeated times lets you do combo attacks. Pressing the right trigger in one of your combos will end the chain with a strong swing. Each swing uses 2 charge energy and each charge swing uses 10 charge energy(close range).

Gravity hammer. Holding right trigger will charge the gravity hammer and increase blast radius by 2 meters when fully charge. Hammer will glow bright blue and you will see energy waves radiating out of it when charging. It takes 4.50 seconds to fully charge at which it does a little moredamage than a rocket launcher rocket and pressing the (B) button will also let you execute combos as well. Pressing the right trigger in your combo will also end it with a gravity swing. Each gravity swing of the the hammer uses 2 charge enegy and each fully charge swing uses 10 charge energy.

Brute Shot: Fires twice a little faster and each grenades blast radius is twice as large.(medium range).

Mauler: Range is same as human magnum. It has a 10 round clip(sub medium range).

Ghost: Can still fire plasma cannons while boosting. Cannons are weaker but each shot burns for 1 second.

Chopper: Faster and longer boost.

Prowler: Turrent is weaker, but each shot burns.

Banshee: Can still fires plasma cannons and fuel rod while boosting. Faster dodging and it flys a little faster.

Pigeon: Flying vehicle that drops plasma bombs.

Wraith: Turrent is weaker, but shoots plasma that keeps burning and main cannon shots are heavier and fly faster. Blast radius of wraith shot is twice as large.

Swooper: Brute flying vehicle that flys 15 meters off the ground and can easily change height. Has spinning blades on front, and fires chopper shots.

Carriable Jackal Shield: Can only use with one handed weapon. Pressing left trigger will make you cover most of your body with the shield. Shield can protect you from 1 direct shot from a rocket launcher, but it will be destroyed.

Deployable Cover: Can take 2 direct rockets before it has to charge. Takes 7 secondc to charge. Generator is behind the shield so it is not so easily destroyed. Generator can take 3 halo 3 brute shot grenades.

Auto Turrent: Equipment that when deployed fires a continuous beam 2 times as strong as a halo 3 sentinel beamat enemies in range, and it takes 1 rocket to destroy(medium range).

Sentinel Beam: Scope added(infinate range).

Spiker: When attachment is added it gains a scope and fires as fast as a halo 3 carbine. Each shot then does 1.50 times as much damage and fly faster(medium-sub long range).

Active Camo: It is now carriable equipment. When you press (x) active camo is activated and last for 35 seconds. It then then takes 1 minute to charge. It doesn't run out of power.

Human

Magnum: It Fires faster and it has a 16 round clip.(medium range).

Assault Rifle: Fires 1.50 times faster and attachment gives it a frag grenade launcher. Grenades still bounce(sub medium range).

SMG: (medium range)Attachment gives it scope and makes it a little weaker(medium-sub long range).

Battle Rifle: Fires single shot(sub medium range). Attachment makes it 3 shot burst and increases range(medium-sub long range).

Shot Gun: (close- sub medium range)

Rocket Launcher: Blast radius twice as large(sub long range).

Frag Grenade: Has 2.50 times halo 3 blast radius.

Flame Thrower: Flames shoot out cone shaped, and range is increased(close- sub medium range).

Spartan laser: Has aslightly faster charge time(infinate range).

Trip Mine: It burrows a little into the ground when thrown so it's less visible and beaping isn't as noticable.

Over Shield: It is now equipment. Press (x) to activate 4 over shields which will take damage and recharge slower then normal. It last 180 seconds then you have to wait 2 minutes to use it again. Doesn't run out of power

Mongoose: Driver can fire single handed weapon anywhere 180 degrees in front of him and passenger can also drop equipment and throw grenades. Driver has to use left stick to steer.

i like the gauss gun idea, it could be like a heavy support type gun . i thik there need to be a more powerfull but less acurate heavy gun like a unmounted light machine gun with around 50+ rounds

Casual players have no rights and I mean that. They are a disease. Back in Halo 2 I was was terrible for almost the entire time I played it. But that was fair, I sucked and I didn't deserve to do good. The Halo 3 skill gap is much smaller and that is ridiculous. Good players should absolutely dominate, no exceptions.

You do realize what Halo was in the beginning right. A huge LAN party with a bunch of your friends. Hooking up four tvs together and ordering 12 extra large pizzas.
Then again your probably a MLG guy who picked up Halo 3 without seeing the Campaign or CE.

MLG had some big lans back in the halo:ce days. Back then MLG was what you described, people bringing their tvs and xboxes to play some halo:ce. And everyone in the mlg community played the campaign, many are just really disappointet about halo 3s campaign.
Also not everyone who doesn't think the game should be dumped down for casual gamers is someone who likes/plays mlg.

I have an idea for the Spartan Laser to balance it out. Instead of a quick laser burst why not a one second beam. To kill a vehicle with one hit you would need to keep the beam on it for almost one second. Then the Spartan Laser would need more shots because it is not a guaranteed 5 kills like it is now. One downside to this could be that it is more effective against infantry so make the laser radius slightly smaller making people harder to hit.

I'm hoping that this is Bungie's way of making a sequel to H1 & H2 that's like H2. I'm hoping since they're free from MS, they won't have to worry about every little bug, and they can leave some like in H2.

I wish they'd bring back nade launching, box launching, button glitches, & superjumps, that'd be amazing.

How is the ODST able to shoot the Spartan Lazar?

in game master chief has a HELL of a recoil after it is shot, so how is a normal human able to control the recoil?

not that i dont want the sp lazer in the game, but the math dont add up.

the gauss thing is a good "idea" but if you look at how powerful they are, its pretty much 1 kill- 1 shot(i know limited ammo) but still a kill a shot. and the laser had that charge up time unlike a gauss.

missile pod, it's hard to keep a vehicle in your sites at all time because there are alot of things it could quickly drive behind(always have riticule on vehicle=bad idea)

a pistol shouldn't be stronger than a rifle, which is why a BR type weapon needs to be. maybe another single shot rifle for the UNSC(like a carbine) it fires stronger rounds than the BR and maybe shoots a little slower moving bullets than a BR.

im liking the hunter rifle idea....

and the last thing i thing is a bad idea, in halo 3 they made the sniper shoot slower as to give the... victim of a sniper, a CHANCE to get in cover. if you remember, in halo 2 it was far to easy to double shot

Would you mind collaborating with me when I get back. I think I found a way to balance dual wielding without making the weapons worthless by themselves.

BTW, I love Lost Planet. I can't wait for the second one!

For the Sniper,

When we first zoom in, give us a x2 scope. But let us scroll smoothly from x2, x3, x4, x5, all the way up to x10 zoom.

That way, the sniper is more effective at different ranges.

the FlaK gun wouldnt really work because the main purpose of the warthog turret is to kill from medium to far range. if you got close you'd be vulnerable to grenades and whatnot. 1 other thing i dont like is that you want us to give our BR's away for pistols?? theres no such thing as a halo without BR. but other than that i agree.

there is a problem with this, you would not lead with a gauss rifle because they shoot projectiles several times the speed of sound, faster than the sniper's bullets

I think a human expeirimental plasma thrower should replace the flame thrower. It just seems too primitive to be used against the covenant. And let us play with more character models each with certain traits. Like maybe Brutes meele harder and Spartans shields are stronger than Elites since theirs are actually more advanced being developed from Jackal shields.
