When turned into a zombie have the zombie be a flood form of the previous player variant. For example.... If you are using a Spartan you com back as a Flood Spartan. If you are an Elite when you get killed by a zombie you come back as an Elite Flood form. Pretty much make the infected look well... infected. IMO this is so obvious and should have been done in Halo 3's infection.

I miss playing Halo with my friends.

That would be bad ass.

  • 06.21.2009 1:59 PM PDT

Check Out my FileShare.
I was once on Bungie Faves. (Feb.7-15)
I'd like to know why I can't see the signatures of others of myself on the forum. I have made favs once, 7777 campaign kills, and I helped bring modders down when they were at their strongest

It would be cool!

It also is an old idea from way back.

that sounds cool. but i doubt that bungie will do this idea.

Yes, It does mater that much. Now stay out of my thread unless you want to explain why is such a -blam!- idea. I think it would be a great improvement rather than having black Spartans and Elites come after you. It would be awesome. If you don't like infection at all then your opinion on the matter is meaningless.

What is so amazing about your idea? Spartans cannot turn into a Flood Spartan, the armor would make the effect invisible, or the armor would be removed, period.

So in other words, we'd turn into slightly faster Marine Flood, but slower than a spartan.

No, it also doesn't matter that Bungie made actual factual characters for Co-op in Halo 3's campaign (compaired to Halo 2's two Spartan fiasco), but they did in anyway.

Quote from bungie
"We tried making players turn into flood but it caused the game to crash"

Why not just have the player's infected model screm like a flood instead of whatever race they are playing. Purhaps once in awhile they randomly scream and make noises. That could ruin a player who is trying to sneak up on someone so that may be a problem but you get what I am saying.

We wouldn't be affected gameplay wise by which player model we chose to play with. And yes we would turn into more of a marine flood form if we were Spartans. The idea isn't amazing it's a basic idea that I'm pretty sure many people probably thought about I just think it would be cool and very suiting and easy to do.

Do all ideas have to be fantastic amazing world changing ideas? Just because it isn't the best idea ever doesn't mean it should be brought up.

Why did Bungie add extra armor perms in Halo 3? Because it adds flavor just like the flood forms would in a game of infection.

  • 06.21.2009 2:29 PM PDT

No. Because there is no such thing as a Spartan form, the DNA of them was so drastically altered that they technically aren't pure Humans anymore.

i think it should be an option to have, but sometimes those things are just too damn creepy to want to play with.

Suck it Red!

Why don't you wait and see if infection is actually gonna be in Reach before asking Bungie for Flood skins?

this is a great idea, yet I'm content with what Halo has brought to the gamer community.

It was either directly prior or directly following Halo 3's release that Bungie said in an interview (or maybe it was BWU) that they had considered using actual Flood Forms for Infection, but decided against it.

The only reasons I could see going against it could be that the flood may look weird jumping really high or camping or w/e. Or they just couldn't figure out how to make it work.

would have been a good idea

I'm pretty sure it was because they'd have to create a ton of new animations for them (driving, throwing grenades, using certain weapons).

Bungie said nothing of the sort. What they actually said was that it was considered up until they realized that it would be impossible with the Halo 3 engine. Have you ever seen the character model change after the match has started? The most the Halo 3 engine can do is change the texture (color, specifically) of a character after it has spawned.

With an entirely new engine (which, from the looks of it, Halo: Reach might have), this is entirely possible. I welcome the idea.
