Ok, after Halo 1 came out an author named Eric Nylund made the book "HALO The Fall of Reach". It is the official prequel to the first Halo.
The book came out before and not after.

It explained how the Master Chief first came to be. The intensive training starting at age 6. The chemical experiments that were tested with him.
Yes, yes, so what about it?

How he became the only Spartan left. Why there wasn't any more spartans made.
Oh.... damn. So:
1. John isnt the only Spartan left.
2. There were more Spartans "made".
3. You should read the novels before talking about them.

The picture of reach you see shows mater Chiefs squad.......... When they were all alive.
Because we all know that all human-like silhouettes are Master Chief (if the silhouette has others around it, then its his friends, and if it has a non-human looking silhouette then its the Arbiter).

This book could make Reach amazing... or too predictable in the campaign. Should they keep the official story or use a different one?
The battle of Reach doesn't get covered till the book Halo: First Strike. We only get a small glimpse of what happened in Reach on the books. Its a huge-ass planet and we only know what happened in a small part of it where 1 group of Spartans where at.
I think i just Spartan Laser'd your thread and from the looks of it there were no survivors.
