Well I just got the logitech X-530 (4.5 out of 5 average on most sites) and I've tried them on just about everything: DVD's, music, games old and new (like C&C Red Alert and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory) and they all work great with it. However, when I started up Halo PC the loading screens with bungie, gearbox, and microsoft studios worked fine with full surround sound BUT when the menu came, only the front left and right speakers and the subwoofer work, and same for campaign and multiplayer. I tried looking in the audio setting but it said nothing about enabling S.S. and I do have version 1.06 (I guess its just supposed to work automatically but oh no, not mine). Any advice to get my super nice speakers to play with Halo?

Those options are highlighted out, but the EAX is just ingame (it bounces sound off of surrounding objects: rocks, walls, etc) and I dont think thats whats stopping it.

It may be your sound card.

I sure hope not, I got this new computer with a 5.1 built-in sound card, so I still don't see what the problem is :(

i don't have surround sound, so i can't help you much. It sounds like there's a driver issue or something.

if you cannot enable hardware acceleration (i.e. the option is darkened and you cant click it) within halo, then surround sound will not work, and neither will eax. that can either mean driver problem, or crappy sound card

i have the integrated realtek alc655 and surround works fine

good choice on the speakers ;)

i have the same ones ;)
