Subject: Why Do We Need Disc 2?

All I ask is that you don't try to capture me.

First off, I know what disc 2 for ODST contains: Halo 3's matchmaking, forge, and theatre, along with all the DLC maps. The thing is, I don't see any reason why this disc has to be in the game. ODST is a game tailor-made for fans of the Halo series; these same fans have been playing Halo dilligently through the years, and probably already own all 3 main games. So why are they paying an extra $10-20 for something they already have?

I understand the motivation for including all the DLC maps in ODST, but why on earth was all of matchmaking thrown in? Everyone already has it! This just seems like a ripoff to everyone who already bought Halo 3. It would make more sense to me to just fill the 2nd disc with bonus content as well as the DLC maps, and drop the game's price to $50.

Vrrin Vrrin, yeah here I come.

so you can play the other mythic maps.

i wish you could get codes to put them on your halo 3 disc. that way, every time you wanted to play the new maps, you could just switch from campain to multiplayer. now you have to take out the disc, put in the other, and then play.

Halo 3 has been out for almost 2 years now. Don't you think that anyone who wanted to play matchmaking would have already gotten their own copy of Halo 3 by now?

Halo: CE Anniversary Achievement Idea
C-C-C-CANNON BREAKER!
Let Sgt. Johnson die on Halo.

Some people scratched their Halo 3 discs and can't load shipped maps such as Valhalla, Guardian, etc.

This just gives them another chance to get in some matchmaking. Also, all of the maps / new maps come on the new disc as well, so you won't have to worry about DLC anymore.

People were also having trouble to get the DLC working on their original Halo 3.

Nope, campaign and Firefight alone look like a $60 game. We're lucky to get the full Multiplayer.

Just sell your Halo 3 soon, you'll get some money to make up for it. Don't wait for ODST, or you won't get much.

I sincerely hope that's not true, because it would be an incredible slap in the face to anyone who owns an original copy of Halo 3.

I assumed the maps would be installed on your HDD, like with that Halo 2 map disc they made a while ago.

Well, this makes sense, but I still don't see why Bungie decided to make everyone's Halo 3 discs obsolete.

Because they're greedy.

They make everyone pay for DLC maps when they're released, or else they aren't allowed to play certain matchmaking playlists.

Then they make an expansion pack and make you pay for the maps again. They know all to well that if they would have told you that the DLC maps were going to be released in a year or so as part of the ODST expansion then no one would have purchased them.

As a great man has said before "..." That is where the truth lies my friends

The Disc 2 contains every map in Halo 3, this Disc is for those people that want to play some Halo 3 Multiplayer (LAN) but that can't connect to XBL to download new maps.

You think Microsoft cares?

I'm just making sure Bungie knows it's letting it's fans down.
