Summary:
(The short and sweet for those who can't stand to look at a wall of text)

I would like to see a map designed specifically for infection games. No bots like Cod, only the idea that there is a specific infection map. It would also be cool to play as the infected flooded Spartans instead of different colored people.

Thought process:

Call of Duty and Halo both have infection game variants. I love to play Halo's infection because you actually get to be the zombie and hunt out braaaains. However, what makes Call of Duty fun is maps designed for infection and cool looking zombies. It's only a matter of time until the two Ideas were crossed to make an ultimate zombie mode. Why not, in Halo Reach make it so there is a map designed for infection with a halo twist (ie a flooded map). Potentially even make it so when you where infected you spawn as the flood, or something to that extent. One of the biggest flaws in infection gametypes now cheep hiding spots no one zombie can get two. However, if the map was designed for infection that problem could be eliminated making it a great experience.

Creating a infection map that would compete with Call of Duty's I believe would be all the more reason to buy Halo over Call of Duty. With still a year of production left in Halo Reach, I believe that this idea is still possible and fantastic if implemented correctly. This is my two cents, hopefully it is taken into consideration.

[Edit] Note: It's not a map that plays like Cod's, but more the idea that COD has a specific map and gametype designed for infection. I'd much rather play a game where I get to be zombie than play a bunch of bots. If I wanted to play waves of bots I would just play ODST when it came out.

From now on, any idea that referances COD gets an immediate negative response from me.

Why? Whether you like the game or not, COD is Halo's greatest competitor, right? It would be ignorant not to acknowledge their success. A company bound for success must look at their competition and learn from both their successes and failures. For me at least I enjoy playing COD zombies for the aesthetics but I love the ability to play as the infected in Halo. If we could learn from what makes COD successful and put your own original spin on things, then you have yourself a successful game.

I'd love that, and with over a year left it could deffinatley be put in. It would be awesome trying to survive against the flood and they could even use it as an oppertunity to add in more enemies, like super flood types, even a gravemind!
I feel halo's infection gametype is predated, CoD has -blam!- zombies, Gears of war 2 has horde, you really feel outnumbered when playing them. until there's about a minute left of infection you have more people than zombies.it would hammer in a sense of fear that you only get on cortana on legendary. I like it :D

He didn't say to use Cod's infection map...I don't want Halo to turn into Cod but a specific Infection map with flood would not be to much like Cod.

Right. Not a map that plays like Cod's, but more the idea that COD has a specific map and gametype designed for infection. I'd much rather play a game where I get to be zombie than play a bunch of bots. If I wanted to play waves of bots I would just play ODST when it came out.

I think the fire fight maps for Halo 3: ODST would be good infection maps because the Marines have a place to camp and protect while the covenant come in waves from the bottom. The same concept could work for Halo Reach Infection. Perhaps in Reach our fire fight maps could be become some awsome infection maps.

What would be REALLY awsome is if the Zombie spartans were dropped off some kind of flood infected pelicans.

IM A LEGIT 16

Do you mean the zombies turn into bots?
If you do, then no.

Do you mean special maps for infection games?
If you do, we have those.

I like the idea where in Halo: Reach's Firefight, you can switch the enemies to Flood.

I agree, the only problem being that ODST is basically finished, it would be way to much work to design the level, code the level, test the level and advertise it to get the word out. Halo Reach is still in the design faze from what I can tell so I'm trying to put a request in early. Plus I love to be the zombie and get me some braaaains. Maybe the could put it in a map pack for ODST.

My idea was to create an entire level designed for infection. What we have know is maps that are created for multiplayer and objects are thrown around to create infection maps. In Cod I like how you feel like you are on grounds spewing infection. Buildings leaking death from the walls not boxy cottages built out of metal walls and chained fences like infected manor. Don't get me wrong I love infected manor, but just imagine if they created it with all the powers of a game designer aimed to give you that ultimate feeling of terror?

I think you guys are not understanding me. What I am saying is the maps SUCH as the ones in firefight would make great infection maps as well because the zombies sort of spawn in waves as do the covenant. Maybe take the same concept and apply it to REACH firefight maps if there is such a thing.

Oh, I get it. Yeah that'd be cool. Maybe they could do small things to the level too when playing zombie mode like adding effects (ie black and white of juicy). I'll make a seperate thread for that on the ODST forum if that is alright with you, I'll credit you with the idea.

But I'm not talking about this for Halo 3: ODST. I'm talking about it for REACH. You said it yourself it would be too late to implement into the game.

I am flatterd that you botherd to look at my signature.

lets say it has special infection maps but infectioncan sloe be brought onto other maps ass whell..

imagine 16players vs an unlimited army.. like fire fight but instead of 4 you have 16. on forged maps! muahahaha!

I don't think it would be too late to implement into the game if they aren't creating a whole new map. Since ODST comes out in late september, by halloween sales should start dimishing compared to the initial appeal. It would be cool if they released the zombie firefight on Halloween. Make minimal changes to the levels themselves. They have all the bots from Halo 3 campaign already in their box of goodies. Since they are using the same graphics I don't think it would too difficult to do in a couple of months. I don't know what do you think?

What do you think about bringing in a level that feels like Halo 2's Backwash but designed for the infection gameplay?

Firefight maps that are.."Zombified" as in, weird flood stuff growing everywhere, would look cool.

Maybe Like in Halo 2 Campaign, to get the zombies there, a flood-operated pelican crashes, unleashing all the flood onboard. It'd make for some pretty cool action.

Yeah but how cool would it be if Bungie designed a level on Halo Reach specifically for infection. Wouldn't it be cooler if you could operate as the flood and actually infect the spartans will creeping through a forest of muck?

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

COD doesn't have infection, what COD has is alot more like Halo 3 ODST's Firefight, which would be awesome if it returns with a Flood Theme.
