Subject: Halo Reach:Prequal+Sequal (A Valid Theory)

An idea for the entire game would to go the ODST approach and make everything a flashback. Master Chief crash lands on Reach and sees momentos of his past which results in multiple flash backs of the fall of reach. while a flood infenction has outbroken somewhere else on reach making it's way to the chief or something better and cooler than what i said with the basic idea of a flash back and present type game

*EDIT: I only find this valid since they are doing it with ODST and Reach's demo will come with ODST so it kinda makes sense

masterchief can't really crash land on a planet that no longer exists, I'm banking on it being just a full fledged prequal

Interesting idea, except the entire planet except for a small portion was glassed, and Master Chief already visited Reach again. It's called Halo: First Strike.

So he lands on a planet with no atmosphere, currently being completely baked by it's sun, to wander around looking at melted dirt, reminiscing about the good ol' days?

He wasn't even actually on the planet when most of the battle happened.

He wasn't on the planet at all for the battle.

Valid theory, down the drain =P
Master Chief doesn't have an infinite amount of air in his suit, either. The game would be like an hour long.

How exactly did he get back to this glassed Reach? And don't say it is the Halo 3 Legendary ending, they only look alike to people who are 90 years old and people who stabbed themselves in the eye,

Master Chief returned to Reach after it was glassed in the book First Strike. After Halo 1, and before Halo 2, while MC is in the Longsword, he links up with some survivors, and eventually MC returns to Reach because he wants to know for sure what happened to his Spartans... Won't say much more than that, because it would spoil a lot of the plot of the book.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

The Legendary Ending planetoid is not Reach and so Master Chief will most certainly not be crashing on it and having flashbacks.

As others have said, Chief wouldn't have much to remember from groundside except for the Forerunner artifact arc, which technically doesn't even happen before Halo: CE, contradicting the "prequel" title.

Regardless, the idea of playing intermittent flashbacks would hurt the experience. ODST is going to work because of the events that take place that scatter this squad of which it seems every single character plays a vital role. Sure, that might be the case in Reach as well... but I doubt they'd employ the same mode of play for two games at once, especially when one of them is a brand new, headlining Halo title.
