Although Bungie is having success with the Halo series, eventually it will get old. By making Halo 3 the end of Master Chief, Bungie is having to get off the beaten path a little. I think eventually Bungie will want to try something new, and dip there toes into another plot. Question is when will that time be?

Revvin' up your engine,
Listen to her howlin' roar,
Metal under tension,
Beggin' you to touch and go!

I'm not in favor that this game is being made but if they make it I think it should be nice to have another subserie.

I love Mute!

I don't think so. If Reach Does well, they're could be story about the Spartan in the shield world. OR a Forerunner story or etc

  • 06.23.2009 12:39 PM PDT

No. I see bungie making halo for a long time. I do think they'll make other games as well though that aren't halo related.

It's like what Kojima Productions wanted to do with Zone of Enders, although now they just do MGS it seems.

They said that Halo 3 will be the conclusion to Master Chief's story arch(sp?)

So more Halo games based elsewhere in the universe are more than welcome.

Story arc. And they are not done with Master Chief or Cortana as characters. Their arcs with the Covenant, the Flood, and the Halos are over... but their stories as characters will continue. Frank O'Connor, Halo Franchise Lead from Microsoft Game Studios (former Bungie content manager) confirmed this at Emerald City.

I think that if Reach does anywhere as well as Halo 3, they'll keep making the games. The fact that Halo is still on the top of the most played charts is an indicator that they are doing something right.

I guess it makes sense, they always left it open so they could have more games.

What game would you rather see, or no game at all?

  • 06.23.2009 2:34 PM PDT

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

My hope is that after Reach, they'll make a multiplayer only game. It will cost $60, but DLC for it will always be free.

This game would just be multiplayer and firefight (if it is good,) and have plenty of maps and stuff like that.

It might not happen, seeing as there wouldn't be much non-Xbox live functionality, other than 4 player splitscreen.

But hey, here's hoping

He'd rather see a new Bungie game, I think.

Halo 2 is the best game EVER made.

I think a multiplayer only game would be pretty sweet.

All depends on how well Reach does. If it goes well they could make a whole new series.

That'd be cool

Welcome to Thunderdome!!!!!!!

Halo CE was the best selling Xbox game, so the had to be a Halo 2 made to that. If Reach gets big then i get there will be more. plus Bungie might not make a halo game but still make a different one. you never know.

Aside from the obvious grammer problems, I think you have the right idea...? As long as the customers are eating up everthing Halo, I think Bungie will continue to feed their games to anyone who wants a taste. Halo Wars sold a lot of games. Halo Wars was a terrible game both aesthetically and just the gameplay in general. I'd take a $5 garage sale Starcraft game over Halo Wars any day. It was a sub-par game at best, the only reason it sold was because it had the Halo name attatched to it.

The moral of this rant is that any game with the Halo name on it will sell so long as the fans buy into their trash.

I think it might be the last Bungie-made Halo game, but I expect more to come from Microsoft.

i highly doubt that halo reach is going to be one of the last halo games. this is because halo is one of the biggest selling points for the xbox. also even if bungie studios stop making halo another studio in the microsoft corporation will take over.

  • 06.24.2009 7:53 AM PDT

My beat downs turn into burns.

I would want to play halo as long as possible but evenntually they will have to move on just like final finasty (just they haven't realized yet). But they still have a chance to do First Strike, Ghost of Onyx, and Harvest

Well it feels (to me) like this game(Halo:reach) is following up to soon after the other games. Hereby I don't want it to be a "milking out" game of the Halo serie. Because if that is the main reason for making the game, it would ruin it. Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 it is a great story line. Great finish.
And yes a new game(not halo) would be nice.
But imo when halo reach is made it would be nice to see some more revealing stuff from the halo bible.

I think it all depends on when they started making this game. I heard speculation that they started it in 2007 but that is just hearsay. It could turn out good if they did in fact put three solid years into the production. Also Bungie has a lot of fresh faces to take a look at the game form a design standpoint. I think as long as it isn't another Halo Wars quality game we should be alright.

ROBOHOG IS VERY BRILLIANT AND STUFF.

I don't mind either way, but there is a lot you can pump out of Halo's backstory and setting. All it takes is a good games developer with the will to make something awesome instead of milking the franchise. If that were to happen with any succeeding games, Halo would never get old.
