Subject: Will Reach be the Last Halo game?

There will be two more Halo games because that would make 7 which is the magical Bungie number right? I think it makes sense.
Hmmm... orly

7 could be the magic number but it might be a stretch. Bungie would have to milk that cow dry.

Depends of the quality of Reach. If Reach is going to be further toned down for the casual audience then I hope they stop and take a break. If ODST is an indicator of what to expect in Reach then we will probably see another good Halo game.

I'm hoping Reach is closer to Halo 3 than ODST

-blam!- the Free World!!!!

First off all, I definitely think the story for the Chief is not over unless Bungie wants to be spammed with hatemail. Aftter Reach, I imagine they will make a game tying up loose ends with the Chief and Blue Team on Onyx and then they will be done, leaving an impression on gaming history...

Alot of people don't want the game to end, but there's that handful of people who are ungrateful for what they have. They're all like "I WANTz MAH MARATHON GAME BACKK!!11!1"

While I enjoyed the Marathon series, I don't think they're bringing it back. I think I saw an interview with Luke Smith saying ODST was last in the Halo franchise.

So, knowing Bungie studios, they're really all mysterious people.

Since they're web master wears a gorilla suit and a jet pack. You can't know what comes next!

i doubt, we'll see the end of halo, although I believe it's a great franchise, companies continue making what leaves the money

So you'd rather another installment in the "it gets easier as it goes" playstyle? I'd prefer it closer to CE/ODST. Y'know learning curve, challenge, good pacing, all that good stuff.

For one it probably depends on if Reach or ODST explains the Halo 3 ending. If neither does than there will most likely be more Halo games.

They should make a game about Master Chief's way home from the end of halo 3 going from planet to planet kind of like KOTOR 2

honestly, I think they should do other games after Halo: Reach and then come back to the Halo series, then do another game then come back and so on...

Bungie said recently that they were working on three projects: Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach and another unannounced game. It's good to move on to new things, but I think Halo still has some hope. It's highly unlikely that they will, but I don't want to see Bungie wrecking up a brand new game.

I think that if they stick to Halo, they have a good chance at being successful. As I said, it's good to move on to new things. I'm neutral on this; if Bungie makes a non-Halo game, I'm sure they'll know how get it right. I love Halo and would be happy if they decided to make another game set in the Halo universe.

The hard thing with staying to the same property for too long is that when they are released so consistently, and known for their MP moreso than their campaign, peoples expectations start to bring the game down.

This isn't so much an issue of right or wrong, but you cannot keep people feeling a new experience in the same format for too long, something new needs to happen. The Metal Gear games, Mario games, Zelda games, Metroid Games, Final Fantasy games, any property that has been around for long have all had to make drastic changes to their gameplay and occaisionally to their game formula, in order to keep things fresh and interesting.

Personally i'm hoping for Bungie to come out with a new IP, but I have no problem with more Halo as long as it's done right. As a fan of the campaign more than the MP, I would prefer them to continually release great, story driven games, in different formats. But the mainstream expectation is to deliver another "groundbreaking" FPS, and there isn't much ground left to break in that field.

I still don't think Halo is on the same level as Mario. I think Chief is a little more expendable and a little less memorable.
