First off, do you think Bungie will put the transportation hogs in multiplayer?

The new multiplayer Idea I had is like this, this would generally only work with big levels since the extra room would benefit it greatly...

The level consists of two to four bases, each one gets vehicles and such. In the middle of the level is a place filled with civilians, the object is to capture every civilian before the enemy does. To capture them, run up to them and press x, the max you can talk to at one time is 3 (and have them go with you). They enter empty spots on vehicles when fallowing someone, and if they can't (no free spots) they chase after the vehicle (keep in mind that if you get to much distance between you and a civilian they will go back to the starting point.

If you kill a civilian that is following someone they will spawn at the starting point. If you get them to your base they convert into a ODST marine and they gaurd the base sortive till killed (killing them turns them back into a civilian in the spawn). When your ingaged in combat the civilians will seak cover (try not to get in your way as you battle whoever is fighting you.

You win once you convert them all into ODST marines in your base...

do you people like the idea? yes/no?

YES

not one of the best ideas i've heard but seems like it would be fun

It's not a bad idea, but the killing isn't the point. You shouldn't be able to kill them, but you could steal them back to your base. The killing would just make everyone go back to the starting point and you'd have to act like the game was starting for the first time again.

That sounds interesting. Imagine playing that on Xbox Live

that's true, maybe they should just turn into civilians with your teams color when they are captured? and that you just have to turn up to them and press x and they go back to being as if no one captured them...

The reason I ask about the Transport hog BTW is because this type of game would benefit from it...

yes to the warthog, and yes to the idea.

I also have an idea, its a lot like King of the Hill. What happens in one of the modes is that, there are multiple "hills" spread equally between bases. You have to have X amount of people in the hill for X seconds, then you win the zone and move on. After you capture a zone, it gets a gun turret that can only be used by the captureing team inside it to help defend it later. As the game progresses, the zones eventually get damn close to each other, then you have to capture the enemies' zones. Also, after a zone is captured, your team can respawn in that location. The main objective is to capture the enemies' base.

It sounds like fun, but instead of killing the civilians you should kill there captore so then you can steal the civilians from him.

Your idea calls that you must turn those hills into your base (maybe they should make you spawn at ones you've converted)..

They did this in Team Fortress Classic, forgot them levels names but teams had to keep control over areas (They had to take one of their many flags and run over the part they needed to capture)...

This mode would definitely be fun in Halo 2... Since it was very fun in Team Fortress Classic...

Note: BTW, I'm not trying to change your idea and make it that you use flags and such... I'm just saying that it's practically the same as the TFC one and it was a very good idea then, it would benefit this game as well...

Also, insteat of turrets spawning, they should have them always there, it's just you cannot use them unless you have captured that hill. This could be same with there being powerups and health there... IF you don't own the hill you cannot use the items...

Good idea but for one its not about killing as much, which is what halo is about, and once then civilians are turned into ODSTs they will be be easy to kill cuz the marines suck, unless the marines armor and skill was equivilant to an elites.

what game was team fortress in?

I didn't include the spawn thing originally because I wanted to get the thread higher on the list.

that is a good idea for a multiplayer mode but you could get frustrated but a huge ODST match would be unbeatable!

ODST marines probably won't be as good as an elite...

Team Fortress was a mod for two games...

Origionally it was a mod for the first Quake, it was so popular that Half-Life I believe bought the people that made it and they made it for Half-Life 1. (I personally prefer the origional though =/). I think they also made several mods for other games that were called Team Fortress as well (Unreal had a team fortress I know that)

Thats what I was trying to get at.

Also, in a varient of this, instead of having zones to capture, there would be a "line" that is made up of your team's forwardmost men. Again, the turrets are there, and are only usable if your team's line is past that point. The goal is to get your line past the enemies' flag, then it turns in to 1-cap CTF.

its a neat idea but as far as the vehicles go they will probably let you decide what ones you want to use like in halo1.

Maybe there's a jungle MP level with trees and foliage where the camo on the jungle 'hog would really help.

1st Idea: Sounds too much like CounterStrike.

2nd Idea: A territory-capturing system like CyberStrike 2/Tanarus would be more interesting.

The jungle hog was made for jungle and swamp levels (343 Guilty Spark), I'm guessing...
