Subject: What is up with Halo 2 on my screen?

I've been mad for freaking years, absolutely years, been over the edge for yonks, been working me buns off for bands...I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us...very hard to explain why you're mad, even if you're not mad...

A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away....I owned Halo 2 shortly after I got my Xbox 360, now back then I had my Xbox 360 on an SDTV and what I'm about to show you happened on that TV as well as on my current HDTV, I believe this is what artifacting is....how do I prevent this from happening and will it damage my TV? The artifact loads when I Save and Quit and then Load the Checkpoint again and it doesn't seem to go away, it is very annoying and I'm concerned that this may lead to damage of my TV.

So what exactly is this?

*Note this ONLY happens with Halo 2, no other game has this problem.
*Note the red circle isn't the problem it is just to draw your attention to where the problem is....

How can I prevent this from happening?
Will this damage my TV?

Holy crap, is that Outskirts, at thre Hotel Zanzibar? That is so cool (not for you maybe). Can you get a vid on this? Heh, maybe that's a portal to another part of the game j/k. I've never seen anything like this before.

Dude what the heck? I've owned Halo 2 twice, and this happened with both copies. Maybe the copy I sold to GameStop traveled to CA from where I ordered the game from Amazon....lol anyway grr. I Googled this and nothing came up. Maybe its an Xbox 360 emulation issue?

It's not the disk, that's a given as far as I'm concerned. The usual problem with the emulator is a screen shadow and it goes away if you restart or die and go back far enough (before the shadow appeared). Also, the shadow follows MC's line of sight (moves with the screen). Is this anomaly fixed or does it move with the screen?

Can you get any kind of vid on this? Camcorder, anything?

I doubt that its going to damage your tv. I remember back in the day when i play halo 2 and some of my friends that had a 360 always complained about having weird images on their screen. I guess halo 2 screws up on the 360, you should look for an answer on google i bet you could find one.

What is odd is the image appears to be in the game itself, not on the screen. When I get the screen shadow it moves on the screen (follows where I look). The pics he took looks like the image stays in the same corner, unless he just keeps taking each pic with the image in the same spot. I would like to see a vid on this because I've seen a lot of screen shadows but I've never seen anything like this.

Edit: I just looked at the 1st and 3rd pic to see if they were placed in different spots on the wall. I'm beginning to suspect the image was photoshopped because it looks as though it is in a slightly different position on each pic.

All the emulator shadows I've seen go all the way across the screen although maybe some shadows only cover part of the screen. To me it's either photoshopped or he just took pics and captured the image on the same spot each time. I think it's fake either way.

I think its the way the 360 reads the game disc.

It's a common problem and the only way to fix it is to eject the disc and reload the game. It's an emulator issue and won't damage your TV. The only way to prevent this is to stop playing the campaign.
