This is something i was hoping Bungie would add in Halo 3. The fact that one could insert a Friendly or Enemy AI character would be amazingly fun. Im sure everyone would enjoy creating there own type of crazy senairio and ultimately it would be like creating ones own campaing mission. Not only could one place an AI unit on any part of a multiplayer map, but also one could be able to make job assingments. Example: After placing a friendly marine unit with a shotgun on the map, they could also be given assignments to follow the players sparten the whole time, or be given automatic "routes" to run while in forge mode. they could be set in a base on a turret with the main objective to just cover the players character from other enemy AI untis. This could also be done with Enemy AI units. Another idea is to maybe be able to have a base that one has to defend for a set time untill reinforcements arrive to aid in the battle against enemy flood, covenant, or usnc units being led by a corrupt AI Johnson.

I beleive you could do much with this and definately the player would enjoy the new and improved Forge. I would love to go out to battle facing a hundred ghosts with and army of warthogs on my side. Plese hit the ground running with this and bunginize it to create it and evolve it into the next big thing in videogame history.

The AI in campaign are programmed to their specific environments. There isn't exactly AI that can handle any type of situation that you could create, like in forge. It won't work. How will they know where to go? Where to run if they get out numbered? What works as cover and what doesn't?

like in the description hope fully bungie can make pre-made abilities the you could set them to do and or "routes" you could make them go. Hey, im just sayong if Bungie can do it, shich i think they can, it would be an outbreak of awesomeness.

I don't know how well it would work in multiplayer, but that's an interesting idea to be able to comand your AI allies in campaign. Who knows we might see this type of thing in Reach.

the idea is über-cool but i don't know if it would actually work. It would probably be quite difficult to impliment in a way that works; most AI are notoriosly stupid, even the simplest of comands, such as "use cover" can sometimes be to much for them to handle.

It would be nice, but the maps would either need preset "scripts" placed, or give us the option to place script nodes for them (Like if we wanted them to stay in a window or something, or to patrol an area), otherwise they would just stand around doing nothing.

I do agree with everyone who is saying it would be extremely difficult for bungie to do this, but I think they could pull something like this off. It doesn't have to be extremely complicated with the actions the AI can preform. Im saying while in "orb mode" the player can set enemy (or friendly) AI just to stay in one area the whole time, or patrol a certain area , or just chill out in a sniper tower, or just stay in a wraith standing guard or what have you. The AI already has AI, once there in action they will automatically fight enemies and take cover so they wont be shot, thats why they are called AI.

Im not specifically talking about commanding Friendly AI while in gameplay, but setting up a senario in "orb mode" or in a mode where a player cant play the map they created and saved the map until and started the match as a custom game. BUT, don't get me wrong, the idea of commanding other units in the midst of battle would be pretty cool. I think that even the simplest virsion of this would be fun and very playable for everyone.

Yea i know but im hoping they will. I think it would be a big plus though. I also think it was way too big of a hit in Halo 3 to not add it into Halo Reach, but i guess you never know. Most people when they are bored' tend to come back to Forge just because it something you could do as one person, if you dont have a couple of friends around to kill each other. Its something that will keep you coming back for more and more, well maybe not you Joey H3, but alot of people that play halo, i think it would be wise for the big B guys to keep forge in and keep upgrading it like they have been doing with the new DLC maps they keep soming out with. Forge was the next "Big Thing" in Halo, and hopefully this could be the next "Big Thing" in forge.

uh man forge is probably one of the most successful parts of halo3 if they didn't have it in reach it would get old real quick as the variety of levels in halo 3 via forge probably kept alot of people including me playing halo so long.

it would just be downgrade if it wasn't included

Great concept!!! this would be an awesome new addition to forge. Forge is great and people love when new options and gameplay types come out. I think that the new objescts bungie keeps putting in forge is great, but there is only so much you can do with inaminate objects. making AI would be great and peeps would deffinalty be amaed with this. lol i wanna save some films on me fighting a corrupt srgt johnson!!! lmao

as long as the bots aren't retarded i think it would be cool. Plus turrets is a good ide, but turrets alone wouldnt do well with a "senario mode". I say do it all or don't have anything.

Forged maps - No way in hell.

The path finding on those things would have to be insanely good to figure out some forged maps out there. While it's figuring out where to go, it's draining your box's resources.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

I dont really care about multiplayer bots. What I would like however is the ability to forge singleplayer.

Yea thats what i was thinking as well. Like in forge, while picking an object to place on the map hopefully there would be an AI category. Examples for the different units you could put would be like "Marine Shotgun" "Marine Sniper" "Jackal Sniper" "Brute Wraith" "Marine Scorpion" "Flood Pistol". Im thinking of somewhere along those lines.

Another good idea is that when you click the "x" button in "orb mode" to to go to the options or settings for the object, an AI unit could have its difficulty set and add or change traits. For example: "Partol area" "Follow unit" or "Stay and cover unit".
