Spun J, have you played halo PC at all?
I can assure you, I know very much about ping and latency. And halo pc LAGS.
For a start, most FPS games are ok with a ping under 200. With halo, it has to be 150 or you start seeing issues.
But whatever your ping or connection, you will always have vehicle warp in halo. When you blow up/tip a og you usually have to wait to see where the people land, cos its not where they should be.
If 2 vechiles collide its warpy as hell.
And the rocket hog could be at least twice as accurate. Im better than most with it, only because I am very very good at guessing the lag. And before you say it, I know rockets take time to get there, but lag is definatly involved.
lol I'm sorry I dont see your point...why would you choose to go on a server with 150+ ping? at most I go on 100 servers, but thats pretty rare, theres always at least one 67 pinger up and active...and if all mine are 100+ and I'm in England...where are these servers? because it seems that people from everywhere are complaining about ping...im in uk, and I get 67 ping on uk servers, 67 ping on european servers, and about 100-133 on american servers, and thats with a 512kb connection...ud think with all the servers at 133 in my list, thered be a boom in the number of americans who ARENT complaining...
As for the vehicle warp, when their warping in the air, they dont teleport randomly in the slightest, they teleport along the arc that they would fall on if there was no lag, what I'm trying to say is, stop looking at is as teleporting, and start looking at it as falling, where u cant see them for most of the drop, if u shoot along the arc in front of them, you DO hit them, leading just as you would a grounded person. Two vehicles interacting, well, yup is pretty laggy, but i can only comment on hog-hog, ghost-ghost, hog-ghost interactions cos i dont play with tanks shees often enough...In all the collisions above, one gets flipped at head on, fine, the interaction is quite laggy, but the interaction is already occuring, how do the aesthetics of the crash on ur screen make any difference to how the server interprets it? it doesnt. Youre all being too picky. The game is pretty solid now, sure theres some laggy players, but in all fairness, you cant blame lag if you get killed lol, is ur own fault *sigh* (fair point if ur standin still, then u suddenly teleport of a cliff lol, but if ur in a duel with someone who's lagging, its just depends on how good you're able to cope with someone who moves at the same speed you do, you just cant see them moving...
its like, when someone sidesteps and they lag, you might see them in the same place for a good 6 seconds strafin on air..then the next minute there half way across the map because of porting...but, the lag just made it look to you like they teleported, they were still moving, and the server obviously registered it, but it didnt receive it or send it quick enough for ur client to process it, so you get an after image for a few seconds, whilst he's moving, then when u catch up, his image moves to where he actually is..
