I've noticed that the regulars on this forum don't really like the flood threads begging for help with Halo PC. Tell me if this is a bad idea, but I think it would be good to have one thread dedicated to helping people with their technical issues. Just post your problems here and hopefully the more knowledgeable people will help you.

By the way I've got a problem myself. On the campaign level 343 Guilty Spark, my computer has problems playing the Pvt. Jenkins video. The text that appears at the bottom of the screen (example ">Play>") is normal but only a small odd shaped portion of the actual video plays. The sound works fine. I tried reinstalling the game but that didn't work. Could anybody help me out?

The video should seem garbled, but understandable.

What are your specs?

Yeah, I know it's supposed to look grainy for effect but my whole screen is black, save a little sliver towards the bottom of the screen where a portion of the video appears to be playing. My specs are 2.8 Ghz P4 w/HT in a Dell Dimension 4600, 512 MB of dual channel RAM, Sapphire AGP 9600XT (128 MB) and Windows XP Professional w/ SP 2 and all the latest updates.

i have had issues with that video, i think that perhaps the 9600 XT graphics driver has troubles rendering that particular filter...

sometimes that video has portions of a few lines cut out, sometimtes it doesn't. But i haven't experienced no video at all. Try updating your card driver. I don't know if catalyst works with 9600, but the latest is 5.5 right now.

yeah I did, my card is running on catalyst v5.5 right now. Oh, well. I've also noticed sound glitches in the final cut scene and the one at the beginning of "Keyes." I'm assuming that its my crappy intergrated audio. AI voice bits seem to be very quiet as well, especially from behind. Do ya'll think that the game thinks I have surround?
