If the Halo CE system is coming back then I have an idea. You have two extra health bars(there were eight in Halo CE) when you spawn. The two bars would be your armor's health, it would last as long as regular health. When thats destroyed you will begin to loose your health. Even if you pick up a health packs you wouldn't get your armor back, It would act as a very slight handicap for players on a killing spree. Maybe there could be a pick-up to revive the armor but there would only be one per map unlike the health kits. Your health would recharge slowly without health packs.

Sounds like a pretty good idea, actually -- would be cool to have visuals as well (your armor goes down a bar, it's battle damaged, it loses both bars, it's very battle damaged). They could always just make health regenerate 4x as slow as the H1 shields, and bring back the slow recharging shields (I don't really like health packs, but I donno). Or maybe fuse the slow-regen health idea with your armor idea?

it doese'nt look nextgen , looks good but not nextgen
If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

I wouldn't like for it to be a standard but it would be a nice customizable option they could add for some gametypes.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Hmm, perhaps loosing the health bar entirely (H2/H3) and replacing it with an armor bar? Allowing for rechargable shields while your armor gets damaged. Only way to replenish armor bar would be between missions, or work it into some of the games stages for particularily difficult levels.

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

Or, there is the standard Shield only system we have now. No health packs. That is also a great idea.

No, we at least need a health system. Health adds a challenging and fun aspect to the game.

I personally think it should just stay the same as Halo CE. Why change what isn't broken right ?

Posting on bungie.net should require that the user has had to have read a chapter book all the way through.

For once I don't agree with you.

Health packs made Halo 1.

Health systems can be broken.

It is another balancing issue that would retract from gameplay.

If you have health, there would need to be health packs. Health packs would need to be placed accordingly.

You can camp health packs, and if you do that, you are at an advantage to players who approach you. People would be greedy and want to get health for themselves, even if their teammates need it more then they do.

Also, say an objective game is going on, you go into battle half way to getting the opposing team's flag, your health is down, so you would obviously retreat to get a health pack. This would cause for some very stale objective games, and even slayer games!

Health systems just add balancing issues, along with poor sportsmanship and camping.

Not what the game needs!

I agree with him plus it would be kind of weird placing health packs in forge which i have no doubt will be included in reach as it was probably the only thing that kept me playing halo3 was the variety of levels created

The original Lemon Head.

If anyones read the books, at the time of Reach, a fully charged plasma bolt would burn through a suit. What you purposed is different, but not different enough. I would like to see something along the lines of individual body parts having different health, shielding. After quite a bit of torment, your armour might take a bit longer to charge, if at all it does.

Elites and Spartans are different sizes right? But in multiplayer they are not! :O zomg!

Why would a Spartan be wearing an ODST helmet! That is just plain sick and wrong! It doesn't fit canon at all! Multiplayer doesn't fit canon perfectly, it shouldn't either.

I like this even better.

They should make the shields weaker than in H2/H3 though.

Could it be a movie?
Just putting it out there. Someone find me some evidence for or against.

If they added engineers, maybe you could stand next to them in order to regenerate armor. Instead of using stationary medkits, you should pick up biofoam injections and deploy them in a similar way to equipment.

Okay, this sounds good, but for the sake of realism, I don't think so. The armor that we will be using is Mark IV, almost guaranteed. Unless it is the fall of Reach, then this system is perfect, because it would be Mark V.

Also, shut up people who say use shields. Mark IV and below had no shields.

i know cannon does not apply in matchmaking but this idea is not half bad it would make it more realistic

If health packs are concerned then no. If auto recharging isn't concerned then the system will fall. You need balance, and player flow. If a player isn't going to go out into battle because his shields are a little bit lower then what they should be, because of a previous battle, and they aren't recharging. Then more then likely, he will either stay back or go out and get killed purposely to regain life.

I would like a hybrid system. Your health recharges slowly but health packs are present for an instant health refill. The armor would not recharge if it were ever added.
