Maybe you haven't noticed yet, but with Halo 3 you can get up to 1750G..
Which includes halo3 campaign points, which isn't in Halo 3 ODST
In Halo 3 ODST you can earn around 1300G i'd calculate.
*sigh*
Halo 3 has 1750 Gamerscore (Microsoft points are Xbox LIVE money) and Halo 3: ODST has 1750 Gamerscore. Giving Halo 3 a whopping total of 3500 Gamerscore.
The second disc isn't Halo 3: ODST. It's Halo 3's Multiplayer component and is actually a version of the Halo 3 disc where the campaign has been replaced with all 13 DLC maps.
Halo 3: ODST is part of Halo 3 as it is a secondary campaign and puts Halo 3's game discs at 3. The current Halo 3 disc, as you know, contains the original campaign that finishes the Chief's story, multiplayer that utilizes 10 DLC maps, Forge mode, and Saved Film. Halo 3: ODSTs first disc contains the all-new campaign as an ODST which is an open-world environment with flashback sequences that count as missions, the all-new Firefight mode, Saved Film, and an invitation to the Halo Reach beta (which is not out when ODST comes out. The beta will come out in early to mid-2010). The extras option will be your ticket to Halo Reach Downloads and the beta itself when it is released. The second disc is, as I said, Halo 3 without the original campaign, and features all 24 Multiplayer Maps on the disc itself.
Bottom line, Halo 3: 1750 G, Halo 3: ODST: 1750 G. 1750 + 1750 = 3500.
Microsoft will let Halo slide as it is the original game for Xbox. It is their money child and they milk it for all it's worth.
