The 2nd disc, for the purposes of Xbox Live and achievements, is considered Halo 3. You're wrong, they're right.

The 2nd dis(c/k) is not Halo 3. The Halo 3 disk offers both Campaign and Multiplayer. The 2nd disc offers only Multiplayer, the premium map packs and Forge.
so let me get this straight, getting ODST is just buying another copy of halo 3 but it has all the downloadable content on it and ODST ?
No -blam!- Sherlock, I can't believe people still don't get this. When you buy ODST, the only things that are new are:
1. The ODST Campaign
2. Firefight Mode
3. The second half of the Mythic Map Pack
The beta could be included too, but that's only for a limited time, then it's useless. The matchmaking that comes with ODST is the EXACT SAME THING AS HALO 3'S MATCHMAKING; THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.
