Has anyone ever tried Halo 2 campaign with all the skulls on on legendary? I am just really curious. Do you think it is possible to beat? I have found 15 skulls in Halo 2. It is really, really, really, difficult. Here are some hints and what I have tried so far.

In order to activate them you need to pick them up. When you turn the XBOX 360 off they deactivate, so I have saved one profile for each skull. Each profile has a checkpoint before the skull so I don't have to go through the entire level to activate it. Activating all of them can be really difficult, once you activate one, you still need to activate the others while the ones you already activated are in affect.

The most helpful trick is the infinite invisibility trick with master chief, which I use to get each skull on he master chief levels.
1. Turn on the envy skull, which gives Chief the Arbiter's invisibility function.
2. Before a checkpoint, turn on the invisibility so you are invisible when the checkpoint does occur.
3. Quit and save. Shut down the XBOX 360, resume the campaign mission, and he will be invisible forever as long as you don't turn on the envy skull.
4. Travel in the level and get to the skull! You don't have to fight enemies!!!!

Here are all the skulls I have found that affect gameplay...except for the first one. I don't know what it does...

Cairo Station: Unnamed, Thunderstorm
Outskirts: Blind, IWHBYD
Metropolis: Catch
The Arbiter: Grunt Birthday Party
Oracle: Famine
Delta Halo: Envy
Regret: Assasin
Sacred Icon: Mythic
Quarantine Zone: Sputnik
Gravemind: Angry
Uprising: Ghost
High Charity: Iron
Great Journey: Black Eye

All skulls are found on legendary, except Blind.

I am attempting when I have time, but have only beaten the first level, which is aggravating enough. I have time this summer. It is suicide, it really is. Anyone up to the challenge? Has anyone tried it? Even playing on easy is difficult enough!

We know all about the skulls. Some of the best players Halo players have tried to beat the game SLASO (Single player, Legendary, All, Skulls, On). Nobody has done it. Nobody has even beaten Cairo either.

So if you say you beat Cairo SLASO, I don't believe you. If you document it then you will be believed.

The Iron skull did not make me start at the beginning, so I continued using checkpoints in one run. What the skull does do is make you start at previous checkpoints when playing on any difficulty with another person. It also decreases the number of checkpoints in single player. I feel all the effort put in to kill every enemy with all the skulls on is an awesome accomplishment in Halo 2. I beat the first level. I have the DVD I made and I can transfer the videos online to you-tube or another way.

I want you to know something, even though you do not know who I am, I will tell you that I am not here to be egocentric and everything. I look at Halo 3 as something to do for fun, meet people, build relationships, increase positive influence. I want to make the experiences for everyone memorable, I just don't know quite how, alright? I just wanted to give people advice if they haven't beaten Halo 2 Mythic, and help them. I do not want to gloat about my accomplishemnts alright? I am here to help. I just want to help and guide others on their way to success. Sure I did not beat the game in one run, but I feel I made an accomplishment. By taking my time and killing every enemy and beating the first level I feel great. Believe me, would I be taking my time to talk about this if I didn't beat it? I can talk to you about how I beat it forever if you want me too. I can mail you the entire DVD if you want.

I am a leader, look up FCCLA, you will understand. These paragraphs probably mean nothing to you and you probably won't even read them. Just understand I am trying to make the world a better place. Okay? Now, let's start over. I will beat it in one run, but for now I did it with checkpoints, that is my accomplishment. Have you ever thought abotu trying? It is crazy right?

I was playing with all skulls activated before SLASO was coined. I played it off and on for almost a year. I've studied all the skulls and believe I know all the effects (even things like Blackeye turns the snow on or off in QZ and SI) and a whole bunch of people know just as much as I do. I quit playing because I got tired of only getting through a level by skipping and that doesn't count in my book.

I will be happy to view a YT vid (not realistic for size needed) or there are other sites that take vid sizes up to 1 gig. If you go through the whole process, with every second filmed, you will be a god and I will ask for forgiveness. The vid is the pruf to da truf. To my knowledge, there's never been a proof vid yet on Cairo or any other level doing SLASO. Do all the levels and flowers will be strewn at your feet.

Just so you know, I only trick in H2, I don't play online. Here's a Bungie page I made that was up for a while: To Do List
I've been here at Bungie since 2005 and HIH for 5 years and there are a lot of people here like me who are quite knowledgeable about the skulls, eggs and such.

Edit: By the way, I thought your original post was excellent for people who don't know skulls that well, It was just the part about Cairo that made me zero-in on you.

I remember a while back, a few guys were doing H-3 SLASO, and the times were ludicrous. Can't recall exactly, but well over 10 hours per level. And that was H-3. God bless you for trying.
And if you were wondering, yes, Grumpy2 is the same guy as the long running trickster, Grumpy1.
I mean...the guy who had that name for many years.

Thanks, but the thing is the Iron skull does not make you start at the beginning of the level. I activated it and died, but it didn't make me start over at the begining of the level. If it does nothing in single player, except decrease the number of checkpoints which is what happened when I played the first level, I have already beaten the first level since I used checkpoints. That means I did beat it, but I still need to transfer the footage.

I recorded the first campaign mission using my DVD recorder directly on to a DVD. I think I have a program that can upload the files when transfered from the disk. I will look into it, thanks. I have all summer to do this too, yay :). I may have to record again, the chapter title on the DVD is 40 min for the first level, which means I have to beat it again... oh well.

I know all about Halo 2 glitches too, in campaign and online. I have made an entire list and have been adding glitches, I find in the game, to my DVD since Halo 2 came out.

That is unbelievable to me.

Here's why:

Blackeye - you have to melee all the way through whenever you need health. You can get some health from things like a turret but there's not that many. The enemies will not turn away from you because of the Armory unknown skull, they always look at you and turn when you turn. On top of that because of Ghost, they will not spin around when you smack them so you can never melee from behind. On Legendary the cloaking time for Envy is never enough to be able to go in and melee even a Grunt to death because they all have Mythic health. Please explain how you miraculously played the melee game and won. There's just not enough time to melee for health before 15 enemies can kill you. Blackeye is why I think SLASO is impossible.

Thunderstorm - Toss in sworded Elites everywhere and then melee them for health in either hanger on Cairo Station. And you can't use a sword to melee for health for yourself.

Catch - Add the above health problems to having all Grunts toss nades at you from everywhere, constantly. Boxes are no protection because of Sputnik.

Assassins and Blind - Even though Grunt Birthday is on headshots are not easy. They are all invisible and with Blind on you cannot aim. With Mythic on you will have to shoot a lot, a whole lot. Couple that with Famine skull (half ammo) and it gets harder.

Angry - Enemies (except Brutes and Flood) shoot a lot faster at you.

I'll believe it when I see it. It's just too easy to type 'I did it' and another thing to do it. Most that claim they've done it say they're gonna make a vid and never do. If you did it and put it on film, Bungie would feature it on their front page. They did when a guy named Pahis did H3 SLASO and they did when a guy named Cody Miller beat H2 on Legendary without ever dying. Hell, just do Cairo if you're that good. Film all the skulls and go beat it and you'll be famous.

Damn boy you rock! That was the best "nice" smackdown I have seen on this site, ever. Very well thought out and tactfully put, good job man!

I
Here are some things I kept in mind when playing, I promise to upload a video, I am not like other people, I tell the truth, honestly. Here are some facts to my success, and an explanation of how the melee trick worked.

Things I kept in mind while playing Cairo:

1. Leave one elite left to assassinate, easy to kill one using invisibility.
2. Assassinate 3 times in a row to get full overshiled.
3. Conserve ammunition, melee move weapons from place to place.
4. Use marines and allies as a distraction in order to kill enemies.
5. Use grenades as a distraction, get elites to face away.
6. Use turret glitch before Athens ship is destroyed to kill all enemie run back, then forward and enmies are unaware, facing one direction allowing easy assasination unnoticed sometimes.
7. Use grunts as a form of gaining shield, easiest to kill, melee on back!
8. Space elites are not hard to kill, stick them, use plasma pistols, they are not as tough
9.Elites can be lured, and killed by surprise. Sometimes, you can let them come to you.
10. Use marines to infinitely reload weapons, and not run out of ammunition
11. Weapons found on racks, or laready in the map not used to by enemies are not affected by the famine skull, only enemy weapons are.
12. Enemies can be turned around using melee.
13. If things get crazy directly after a checkpoint, try differetn techniques since you have a close checkpoint at an impossible part.
14. run back, then forward and enemies are sometimes unaware, facing one direction allowing easy assasination that is unnoticed sometimes....

I turned the Awreness, Ghost, and Sputnik on today to check the affects but I can still turn enemies around, but I see the awareness skull results. Enemies to look at me more, and run toward me. I started a new campaign with these skulls on, but I can still turn enemies around. When they turn around though, they immediately turn back to look at me, as if it does nothing. But, when the elite gets angry, he stands still and that gives me the opportunity to assassinate him. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe not, maybe so...do you have any videos to show?

Anyway, the invisibility was the most helpful in the campaign! I was able to continuosly run in, look, and run back, planning my next move each time. I could move form spot to spot without being seen, drawing closer to enemies, maybe even running past them, but did I mention I did not beat it one run? I died many, many, many, many, many times! Without being able to assasinate enemies using my cloaking ability I would have never beaten it.

Do you have any advice on uploading? I have Pinnacle Studio 12, and have recorded my progress on a DVD by means of a DVD recorder that records straight form the TV when I play. I am having some trouble on the CPU though. Transfering files from a finalized DVD to the computer is easy, but Pinnalce breaks up the chapter titles on the DVD into scenes which apparently do not show the entire gameplay recorded! I play it at normal speed and it goes to the next scene when the first is not finished and skips a lot of parts, but when played at 2X it shows the entire part and the audio repeats. What? I promise to upload it, it is a just a matter of time to figure this computer situation out.

I really appreciate the advice, seriously, I just need to figure out how to get the footage on the computer correctly. I can always beat Cairo again, I have all summer. There was a person on a Bungie update that did a montage on mongoose mowdown kills, and he used Pinnacle and a DVD recorder. Maybe I can get advice from him.

The vid would not be for me. The whole of Bungie and several offshoot communities will be looking at your vid. The way the pros do it, in order for a vid to be deemed 'not fake' you must start by filming turning on the box and going through each skull (any order) and then you film the whole game. Because of Blind you would probably have to kill yourself to show you are not invincible.

That was a good text tut but I feel you were a little too generous with how much time you have to cloak and go get a melee kill and then get back to safety when using Legendary and Mythic. One hit melee's will not keep you alive, imo and enemies will fire in your direction when you melee (not to mention sword dudes).

I've had my say so I'm done with debating and I await your vid.

Alright, I just need to get the footage to my computer somehow...

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it! The video will be up this summer, I will begin starting it as of right now. I promise to tell you when it is up and follow the "pro" way of recording.
