Subject: XBC, XBL, and Halo 2

I was just wondering if someone who knows a lot about networking and games could help me out here with my question. Halo was not built specifically for any online play, and that is why unless you have a superb internet connection, XBC will lag for you. Halo 2 WILL be built for online play, thus somehow using coding that will reduce lag in games over XBOX live. However, since the game is built a certain way to reduce lag, will XBC still lag for Halo 2? If it does not, and the communicator is supported during LAN play for Halo 2, will XBC be as good as a connection/experience as live, except for clans and stats ETC? Halo 2 LAN will have support of 16 boxes, so you won't have to worry about kicking singles out of games in order to get a huge game on XBC. Does any of that make any sense? Just comment about it. And oh yeah... just for kicks, check out my Halo 2 hub. (UNEXPECTED is my Halo name)

It would work that way, but why play on XBC when you can play on XBL.

well why dont you just get DSL or something XBL is not laggy at all exceptions to those people who think they can hold 16 player server and it lags... but on the other hand most of the time when i play its all about finding the right server for you. XBC doesnt matter on having a good connetion its the distance of the user.

Ok, here we go... You shouldn't be playing XBC with dial-up, i don't know how you cope!

System Link is designed to run across ethernet cables.... most hubs usually allow 10Mbps... compare that to your dialup - about 0.05mbps and you'll understand it when i say, that Halo 2 on system link will give you basically the same problems, although insignificantly less worse.

Oh yeah... and don't bump on pain of ninjafication!!!

I don't play XBC at MY house. At friends houses who have raodrunner, but didn't want to drop $50 for XBOX live. My circle of friends will get it when halo 2 comes out, why waste 3 months of the subscription? and what the heck is ninjafication?

Erm ninjafication is basically wha tBungie does to people who break the rules and stuff... I'm sure you'll find someone around who's experienced it... oh yeah, and it involves ninjas ;)
