I Think it is time for bungie to pull out one of the coolest Superficial features in a game yet. Actually show ingame damadge on a persons character. I Want to see my team mates armor scorched, dented, or possible melted/blackened when he survives a explosion or something like that. Would be cool to see that on the marines too in campaign. And Also Could this be a first for the Halo Series?, ACTUAL Body Dismemberment. I think it would be cool to Cut someone in half or an elite with the energy sword.

I don't join any group that spams me in PM so don't try it.
SPAM applies to anything that is copy and pasted, it is very obvious when you do so don't say you wrote it. Also if you argue with me on the nature of things contained in this signature, you will be blocked and never removed. If you send to me in XBox live you will be Avoided, Blocked, and a complaint will be filed for harassment.

1. Then it would barely scratch a "Mature" rating
2. This isn't Dead Halo Space
3. I don't want to see someone cut in half. Why do you want that?

besides the dismemberment part i liked it and ive always have thought what it would look like when you get a head shot to see the entry hole on the visor.

I think gore would really add to the campaign, even if its to the Gears of War extent. The game just seems too cheerful and funny in Halo 2 and 3. See a marine cut in half would really add to the fact that the Covenant are evil invading aliens.

Just because a game has already done something then why do poeple always say something like this??? Here's a secret... great things are always ideas built upon by other ideas. I like this. I want a darker Halo that actually deserves an M rating.

That would be awesome, then the veteran players would look battle-hardened.

Each of us is entitled to our own opinions on music. There is ignorant rap and then there is intellectual rap, just as there is ignorant rock and intellectual rock. Even the "ignorant" artists can sometimes be intellectuals, and even the "intellectuals" can be ignorant. The worst thing you can do is be a bigot about music. If it doesn't have any affect on you, then listen to something else. But don't insult someone because their choice in music is not your own. THAT is ignorant.

I would love Broken Visors I don't know why but there so bad

I think it would be really cool. Maybe not people getting cut in half, but seeing the damage on them would be nice.

Rawr Im a dino!

no dismemberment but all the other ides would be cool. I'd like to see the bullet holes on the armor of where you got shot or if you got killed by a sniper id want to see the visor with a hole in it. Also if oyu get hit by plasma gun it would start to burn you armor or melt it.

  • 06.25.2009 9:58 PM PDT

The Whole point to making this possible is the whole fact that bungie is making Halo Reach on a new engine. And The fact that im technically more talking about dismemberment from covenant weapons. In the books a single Phantom or Spirit Dropship Plasma Round could of easily cut a marine in to "The marine Screamed long enough before his torso hit the ground and his intestines fell out" or something like that from Halo: The Flood. Technically Dismemberment would be a good thing seeing as to This is the Fall of reach, and being on the Ground, your going to see alot of hell down there. Which would make Halo Reach in particular more serious and mature then the others.

BTW the dismemberment was not ment to be on the scale of Gears or Dead Space because particularly they are using more of a meaty system for there body dynamics, The dismemberment in Halo reach would more likely be grazed/burnt/melted limbs with little or no blood coming out. I never thought that Battle decals should be given to the players who have more experience to differentiate the veterans but that sounds cool to. But im more looking into Ingame Battle deterioration on the people who survive engagements. Ur friend survived a grenade so hes blackened and cut from the waiste down, then he survived from a sniper round, and you can see where the bullet cracked his armor, the he got killed by a rocket to the chest, and all you see left of him is his lower body, That is all.

To the interwebs!

This will never ever happen. Why? Because it's a mature rating, if Bungie develops a gruesome game it will be higher than mature and therefore limit the audience meaning Microsoft get less profit. Discuss all you like, but it is one of the most pointless threads on this forum to date.

Actually i do like the idea of putting into perspective that your armor is taking damage. It kind of adds to the cinematic experience. In a Halo movie you would see that sort of thing going on. It's not a new idea or anything, but you did make me think a little more about it. As for gore though, THAT would be pointless. Okay maybe not pointless, but it would be a little too much. Considering a large chunk of bungie's audience for halo is early to late teens some people wouldn't buy the game. Parents let them play halo mostly because there isn't anything too bad in it. It's like a PG-13 movie.

IM A LEGIT 16

I like the armour being affected, but I don't want any over the top dismemberment or gore like Gears or Fallout.

what are u talking about, gears 1 and 2 and timeshft, and other games had body parts coming off/blown up, also a xbox 1 game soldier of fortune 2, u could actually blow off each limb independely-blow off the arm then his legs then head and they still were a M rating game,

timeshfit- people's body explodes
gears they get ripped apart
SOF2-u could choose which limb came off
and if SOF2 didn't have a Adult rating nothing will

as the guy before u said, make it so the amrour goes away but no blood or guts come out, just like in starwars EP 1 where the darth mal gets cut in 2 and nothing come out

Gears of war chains saw people in half, i pretty sure little kids should not buy the game then because I would not mind it. But don't do major change to acquire this feature if ever happened.
