I havent read the novel so i don't know But to me they sound the same from the trailer,I also think they are related because of the sentence "A Fathers sins past to his son" that the gravemind said. but idk if he meant Master chief's dad or the graveminds dad from halo 2.
tell me if you know if they are related.

Wow. You're either a really good troll, or (and I'm just being matter-of-fact, here) you're really bad at understanding the Halo story. "Child of [Gravemind's] enemy" refers to the fact that the Chief, a human, is a designated heir to the Forerunner legacy. The Forerunners were the enemy, and the Chief (like all humans) is their "child" in some sense that has not yet been explained in great detail. Don't read any more into it than that. You're liable to hurt yourself.

No, that was referring to the gravemind that died when the Forerunners activated the Halos for the first time.

The Chief was already alive during the Fall of Reach. In fact, he was the highest ranking Spartan. Besides, everyone knows Lord Hood is his dad =O

Chief's dad is the magic Dragon. That is why Chief never shows his face, because once he hit puberty, he grew fangs and the ability to breathe fire.

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher regard those who think alike than those who think differently.

كل نفس ذائقة الموت

You guys laugh but this theory is no more ridiculous than the "Time Travel" theories that are so popular around here and all the theories about Reach being the planet in the Legendary ending.

They all arise from a basic lack of comprehension of the Halo universe, over-excitement and the unbridled power of imagination posessed only the young and the naive.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

The kid just didn't know the back story. He never came back and screamed he was right either. That's more than I can say for time travel theorists. I can deal with lack of knowledge as long as they recognize it and admit it's impossible. That's why I helped him so much last night.

This is why it pays to read the books.
Well put, I read the first three books in a week and it paid off. But there are still going to be mindless idiots out there running around and spamming the forum space like this guy.

First off I have to say that I'm sorry and I'm usually not this rude. Now with that disclaimer, I now have to say that this is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever heard on these forums. If you have to start your post off saying "I haven't read the novel", then you should know off the bat that you are incorrect. Please, please go read the book. Second, the gravemind cannot have a dad. The gravemind is formed when a collection of flood spores reaches a certain mass, and it then forms a central intelligence. Again, sorry for being rude, but wow.

Don't be sorry. He deserves no pity.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

"A Fathers sins past to his son"
It was talking about the Forerunners.

  • 06.27.2009 6:43 AM PDT

John's dad was just that. A father and a civilian.

  • 06.27.2009 7:15 AM PDT

Wow, really? How can ANYONE who has not even read the Halo books even think of posting a theory? You sir are a nubcake.

When I grow up, I want to be just like goofenhour.

Seriously, these kind of threads are going to make me cry.

OK, lets think about this, why would Master Chief's dad be a Spartan? Do you think Dr. Halsey abducted Master Chief's father on Eridanus 2 and was the 30 year old man in the group of 74 kids?
