I know this has been posted before but I want to revive this thread to explain how and why it would work. (by the way I am in the right forum because its likely bungie will include firefight in Halo Reach)

This is quite long

Drop Points: Because they get dropped by a dropship (If you don't believe me watch the firefight gameplay video)
For the enemy AI you put drop points, which you can only have a small number of and you have to put them on the ground in an open area. They can't be placed too closely to each other.

You can then edit the drop point and choose what enemy type spawns for each wave.
You can either edit each wave individually or you can set it to copy every ten rounds.

What you can edit on a drop point is enemy type: Grunt, Jackal, Elite, Hunter (as well as variations of these) and also things you wouldn't fight in Halo Reach: Brutes, Marines, ODST's, Spartans, Sgt Johnson (lol).

You have to set each round to a certain enemy team like Covenant, UNSC and flood so that spartans aren't jumping out of cov drop ships.

You can also edit waves: Time lenght, enemy stats, Time of day/lighting etc.
If you dont want to edit 100 rounds what you can do is edit 10 rounds and set it to copy itself and put on an enemy multiplyer e.g. round 11 is round 1 but enemies are twice as strong.

The flood spawn from a drop point but come down as meteors like on campaign.

Why this would work: It wouldn't be that hard to put this system into the game, the reason bungie said it was impossible to put bots in forge is because the game was already made and It wouldn't be able to accept a major update like that.
But because Halo reach is being made from scratch (new engine possibly) it could be incorporated into the game.

Second major point: Some people might say spartans fighting hordes of Sgt Johnsons would be stupid (which it is) but because this is >>CUSTOMISATION<< it doesn't matter if it doesn't follow the story, just don't play other peoples custom firefight maps.

We have no idea what is possible and what is not. Halo's AI deals with variable paths and reactions, but have always been designed to interact with a static terrain. Unless Bungie somehow designed AI to actively recognize where a piece of terrain has been relocated or removed, creatures would be constantly running into walls. Perhaps they will somehow expand the AI for Forge involvement, but it is a pretty big hurdle that you can not ignore... and so you shouldn't instantly assume it to be so simple or even possible at all.

Also, no this is not in the right forum, because regardless of likelihood, it isn't a confirmed feature.
