To the interwebs!

You are a 'good guy'. Since the very first Halo game, somehow us good guys have always won. Don't know if anyone has noticed yet, but the battle of Reach is lost with the majority of the Spartan II's.

An entire planet is glassed with 'good guys' still on the ground.

I fail to see how Reach is going to work.

Halo is like James Bond; we know the good guys will win, the story is just describing how. But in Reach we don't win, which also suggests the reason to believe it's not a prequel.

i woke a bit ago and my son was playing halo 3 he was on forge i saw at the bottom of the screen was a charge for 35 dollars is that real or not did he charge 35 bucks or is that justfor the in game

-NO RECUITMENT MESSAGES PLEASE

This is the whole reason why I believe that, for at least some of the Reach campaign, and certainly at the end, you will be playing as Master Chief.

Sure, some good guys will die, but escaping is still a victory (since we know the end).

Nah it's too cheesy escaping the Spartans off the ground. They also somehow got Johnson off the Alpha Halo, they say it's classified but i personally believe thats just because they can't think of a good reason to kill a main character...

  • 06.26.2009 4:01 AM PDT

if any of you actually read the books you would find out that master chief never went down to the surface of reach during the battle, he stayed in orbit to destroy a Nav computer that contained the location of earth with 2 other Spartan II's, one of these spartans died and the other one was in cryo stasis on pillar of autumn because she was critically injured (technically dead but revived by doctor halesy in the 3rd book

most of the spartans on the planets surface died, the surviving spartans were rescued by the master chief in a captured covenant flagship

Well, we know the FINAL outcome of the war, maybe Bungie want us to take solace in that, lol.

''Hell is other people.''

I think it might be kind of like a Halo:LOST sort of thing. The spartans are stranded, they complete a mission, and get part of a huge conspiracy. Some "good guys" die, some survive. The End?

Dude, if you read Halo:First Strike you find out Johnson escapes with Master Chief on a Hijacked Covenant vessel

I hope we have a sad ending. The main character should be a new character and he should die at the end in a heroic way.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Who says the good guy always needs to win? That's just bad storytelling.

Every man is the architect of his own fortune.

We shall se what we get from the Beta that will be released with ODST, maybe we can get an idea of what happened. When is ODST based, like timeline wise?

Beta won't be until 2010

IM A LEGIT 16

So the good guy dies.
As long as they do it in a cool way, like in Fallout 3, where you sacrifice yourself for good (or evil in FO, but that would be stupid in Reach).
They changed the FO ending, though. So now your guy survives for no reason.

Maybe your character will be one of the few surviving Spartans, or maybe that Halo Wars crap ending. I hope the good guy dies, it will make it more dramatic.

Bungie said they will make the game much darker then the other Halos, so who knows?

People keep stating this but I've seen no source to back it up. Do you know where you heard it or does it just seem to be common knowledge amongst the forum? As far as I know, Bungie has not commented on Reach at all aside from its initial announcement at E3.

  • 06.26.2009 7:36 AM PDT

This is where you fail, Tteh covenant nevered glassed the whole planet.

Bungie employees at E3 said so.

Btw, if they didn't glass the whole planet, then they just didn't glass a mountain (which would be pretty stupid). Not much to do with a single mountain with a planet without an atmosphere.

So some people are saying that the Covenant saw this one patch of unglassed land, and decided to just leave it there, even though they found survivors there.

Read the books. Has anyone considered a Covenant Campaign? Where you play as the bad guys?

They DID leave the mountain there. If youve read the books, then you should know that Dr Haselyl and some spartans were in the mountain, and the reason why the covenant didnt glass that mountain is because it had a forruner crystal that the covenant wanted.
