Ok, please do not immediately flame this ebcause you're so cool.

For example I think a covenant species based upon Lions could be interesting.

Brutes could have the lion creatures as pets, introduce them in Reach and explain that they're not used in H1 2 and 3 because of the Prophets realisation that the creatures are untamable in the battlefield.

IM A LEGIT 16

No...

No time-travel, don't even consider it...

I doubt there will be Brutes in Reach, "Lion Creatures" sound pretty stupid.

New Covie races would break canon, but a pet for Elites/Brutes could be brought in in some way.

The only race incuded that would make sense are Engineers, which are these pink floaty thingies that can repair and build stuff.
They aren't aggressive, so it might be hard to implement them.
Engineers are apparently in ODST.

Edit: If these "Lion Creatures" are untameable, then why don't they attack their masters?

I would rather stick to the already established enemies, rather than adding enemies just for the sake of adding enemies. All i want is my elites. :D

The drinols were a hulking breed of creatures that were conceptualized after a creature from Marathon, if I'm not mistaken. Ultimately it seems that the perfect flood forms have been inspired by them, but the drinols themselves were never actually introduced into the halo universe.

Anyway... no time travel. These "what if this" threads are, no offense, entirely pointless.

Here we are again bro... Just you and me. Same kind of moon same kind of jungle. Real number 10 remember... Whole platoon, 32 men chopped into meat... We walk out just you and me, nobody else. Right on top huh? Not a scratch... Not a f**kin' scratch. You know who ever got you. They'll come back again. And when he does I'm gonna cut your name right into him... I'M GONNA CUT YOUR NAME RIGHT INTO HIM!

In the contact harvest book I think I remember reading about Tarturus having four legged pet thing back in the day so they could maybe put them in the game?. If I'm wrong about the book refference would someone please point that out to me.

what about brutes as pets for halo?

I don't like them to be in the game, since I don't like to fight brutes (instead of elites)

  • 06.26.2009 8:54 AM PDT

Oh yeah It's Rayzed.

No. The lion doesn't even fit Canon. No time travel, no dumb lion creatures, and please no more dumb ideas.

I could see some new Flood species being in the game. That would only be possible though if we end up in a Forerunner Installation and the Covenant decide to mess with everything.

I dont want to see covie species.
But the forerunner dinosaurs seen in the Halo combat evolved trailer.

I won't flame, but only point you some error.
If indead, this is time-traveling, then it's the past, since we all saw the teaser (people still alive) and the planet has not turned into glass. As this is past it doesn't allow any introduction of new species.

Then if there is no time-travelling, it's still in the past, it's a prequel.

But, as a good guy, I will imagine a new specie for you that could be use:

Ok, this is difficult to imagine....

Oh nevermind, I cant imagine something, sorry.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME GROUP INVITATIONS

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

First off.... no time travel.

I would like to see the Engineers, but no new species. I would like new ranks, though.

Hunter...
Behemoth. Basically a massive Hunter formed out of the two Hunters in a bond pair. They don't have a shield, but they have a pair of heavy repeating fuel rod cannons.

Elite...
Forsaken. All bear the Mark of Shame, but have been allowed by their Fleetmaster to die in combat rather than to die by execution. They fight with unbridled fury.

Oossoona. Light blue armor, no shields, active camo. Armed with a plasma pistol and 8 grenades, they will avoid combat at all costs, so they could offer a sense of paranoia to a level seeing dashes of red across your motion tracker in unreachable areas... tracking you the whole time.

I would like to see some Innies, also. And some new types of Flood and Sentinel. I detailed all the new types here.

I was going to quote some of the upgrades from your script... but you beat me too it. I'd love to see Zap Jellies, Shade Crabs, and Mud Wasps if possible too.

Reach has NOTHING to do with time travel. There are no opportunities for new Covenant species in the game. The Covenant species involved in the destruction of Reach are already documented.

You say tomato; I say potato.

Maybe they aren't new to the story, but they are new to the games. Engineers would be neat. It would be cool if protecting them from being destroyed would allow them to unlock ammo caches or unlock short cuts. That could add an open world feel to linear game play.

please point me towards a post/official statement by a bungie employee, that says this story will not have to do with time travel...

also all those people that say "that wont work cause it will go against fall of reach/first strikes canon" please shut up. this is a large reason why many people did not like halo wars. instead of appreciating the fact that the story was pretty good, everyone complained that it did not follow canon, if you never read the books you would see that the story works with the games.

if bungie wants to change the story to suit their needs and make the game more fun, let them, cause personally if the game is fun and works with halo 1, 2, and 3 then i dont care.
