I remember beating halo ce on legendary and seeing johnson hug an Elite right before halo exploded. i remember reading somewhere that it was more or less an easter egg and not cannon, because Johnson escaped halo on a pelican. With that said, I cannot get over the similarity between the planet on the halo 3 legendary ending, and reach. I'm just speculating but it seems to me that the mystery planet was just a hint to the upcomming game. I think it was just an easter egg hinting at the upcoming game. not anything cannon. Again i have no bold claims to anything factual. Just my opinion.

Ya I think it was a hint/easter egg also. Plus the whole time travel thing isn't entirely impossible but WOULD ruin this game, maybe it could be in a different game if they continue it after Reach.

Yeah i don't buy the whole time travel idea either. I think there is too much back fiction for that. if that planet is reach, and if it is an easter egg, it allows alot more open room for Master Chief if they ever decide to continue his story.

The Halo 3 Legendary Planet looks nothing like Reach

Similarities - They are spheres and have cities on them

However, Reach has continents that the cities have to form on. The "Legendary planet" doesn't have continents, it's one solid mass that cities form without restrictions.

Reach was glassed, so it wouldn't look anything like the Legendary planet, because much more than half of its surface was oblierated by plasma.

i disagree. i think you maybe overlooking some key similarities. at least take a look at this.

Reach

Legendary Planet

and as for reach being glassed. i mentioned before, perhaps the legendary ending was non- cannon and only hinting about the next game. if he floated to a glassed reach, it could be confused with harvest or anyother destroyed planet. but hell, i don't know.
