in halo 3 there are achievements that u cant get at the moment without the other 3 maps that are coming with odst.

But the thing is the 3 new maps are on the second disk on halo 3 odst so for example one the achievements is Vidmaster Challenge: Brainpain u need 2 get all of the skulls, so for example u hav all of the skulls would the achievement unlock right away since your not on halo 3 your on halo 3 odst

I just dont see how it could unlock when your not on halo 3, i dnt see how one game can unlock an achievement for another game it dnt make sense

so can someone plz exaplain how this would work

The first disk is Halo 3: ODST

The second disk is Halo 3 multiplayer

So technically, the second disc is Halo 3

the maps are on halo 3 not odst and there are new skulls on the extension to the mythic map pack so you you have to play halo 3 to get the achievements

All of the second disk is compatable with Halo 3. But I'm starting to wonder, what would happen if somone from disk 2 of ODST joined a game of somone with regular Halo 3, and the they went to campaign. What would happen?

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Yes, the second disc is just repackaging of Halo 3 MM. All achievement go to Halo 3.

No, not technically. It's actually Halo 3. Xbox LIVE recognizes it as Halo 3 instead of Halo 3: ODST.

Most likely a player failed to load content error sign, or perhaps when the party leader tries to switch to Campaign with someone playing on ODST Disk 2, it will have an error saying "One or more players in your party cannot play Halo 3 Campaign" much like it alerts you that your NAT settings are closed when you try to go into matchmaking (In other words: You stay on the screen you've always been on, however the party leader gets an error and presses A to get out of it"

ACTUALLY... The 2nd disc is only Halo 3 Multiplayer... You can't play the campaign...

That is why I said technically dip-blam!-!

I love the stupidity of some people in this world. I agree with you, but correct you. Yet you still manage to curse me out.

I realize that "Dip -blam!-", however the point I'm trying to make is that the Xbox LIVE Dashboard calls Halo 3: ODST's Disk 2, -gasp- Halo 3.

I know, it's a hard concept to grasp. But why not think about it this way: If it were called any other game, it wouldn't be compatible with each other cause it is another game. Xbox LIVE has to recognize it as the same game in order for the players to be able to play with each other, so that's what Bungie did. They took Halo 3's disk, removed the Campaign, and kept everything else. Then they packaged it into Halo 3: ODST's box, and as a result when you start up Halo 3: ODST's Disk 2, it'll say your playing "Halo 3".
