As anyone who still plays Halo 2 knows. It's sometimes hard to get a match, maybe it's just me. But sometimes it takes around 5-15 minutes to get a match in BTB. Anyone who looks at the number of people on H2 at any given time will notice it's about 1,500 give or take a couple hundred. This small number of people is spread over TEN play lists. Which means in theory only 150 people are in each play list.

Which is why I'm suggesting that some of the play lists get removed. H2 Challenge, Team Skirmish, Team Training and Team Hardcore. This will leave what I'm pretty sure are the more popular playlists. This will help shrink how far the H2 community is spread out.

Why these?
Team skirmish: Bungie couldn't even keep this going in Halo 3 which has a player population of anywhere between 50,000 and 250,000. A good alternative is BTB since about 40% or more of the games are objective game types.
H2 Challenge: I don't really see the point, just play Rumble Pit
Team Hardcore: While it does provide a different way to play. IMO i think it should probably go.

Please be sure to comment on the idea as well as your votes.

Team Skirmish is almost impossible to get a game, same with Hardcore
H2 challenge I never play
Slayer, DT, and Snipers are the most active playlists
Team training and swat are good when you don't want to play ranked

so remove, Skirmish, Hardcore, and H2 challenge

Thanks for your input. I do agree most strongly that H2 challenge and Skirmish should be removed. Hardcore I don't really play, Team training in my opinion, you could just play BTB, but I assume some people don't like BTB.

I don't like to play BTB because most players don't have a good enough connection to have 16 players in a game without it lagging

Long time Bungie fan. I been playing since the age of 2 years old! I'm a really good Halo player. I worked my way for u 9 years on Halo. I read all Halo books I even have Halo:The Art Book. And yes I'm a kiss-up.

GAMERTAG- yippikaye

I have played Halo 2 and they really should clean up the playlist maybe even add some infection gametypes just maybe.

  • 06.28.2009 7:11 AM PDT

Infection would be something that I would like to see tried out in H2. Unfortunately I don't think they can do it in H2 like they have in H3. Even if they could I doubt they would take the time. But they really should at least get rid of some of the play lists since H2 is the most popular Xbox game. (online)

Ranked
Double Team
Team Slayer
Team Snipers

Unranked
Team SWAT
Rumble Pit
Big Team Battle

everything else needs to be improved
but this will never happen, because bnet employees are focusing on Halo 3 matchmaking, making loads of copies for Halo 3 odst and polishing it, and developing halo reach and another unnamed project

While improvements would be nice I'm simply suggesting that they remove a few playlists. I know they're really busy but i doubt this would be to hard, or take to much man power.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Team Training is actually pretty active and the gametypes really kick ass. You have your basic objective games mixed in with Team Slayer (including BR starts). And then there are always those fun games like Team Swords and Team Shotguns.

Okay fair enough, I tried playing it again today and it wasn't to bad so I'll edit my MP. The only problem was everyone I played against quit. (losers)

I agree that the playlists should be cleaned up but Hardcore should never be removed. H2 Hardcore is a last chance at playing a good competitive game. Myself and others included would like to play H2 with a competitive edge and BR starts instead of complete slayer and SMG's.

Thanks for posting.

First off, which playlists do you think should be removed/combined.

Second, It's good to know there are still people who play on a competitive level. But again the one's I posted are just my opinion, and I don't think there's any way to tell how many people are in each playlist.

I don't think so. This forum is not monitored very well, and I doubt Bungie will see it. But we can hope. I really hope Bungie doesn't kill Halo 3 this way too.

I know! One time me and my brother searched for an hour, never got a game and ended up playing something else.

Yeah, maybe they should make forum moderators that only have power in specific forums. So one for H2, Halo Reach, etc. But you never know......
