may be book spoilers ahead i just started reading the book harvest but iv read all the rest of the book including cole protocolyou start out as a spartan getting a mission to deal with an inne faction on reach as in one of the books it says it is highly populated planet with alot of military. great place for the innies to attack. as in begging of the book of harvest they attacked a space cruise liner on reach(pg127). and in the end the covenant attack has just started which explains the video. i'm no good at writing theorys i just read through all the books in about 2 weeks (yes i have way to much time on mine hands) so i thoght id give a stab at my theory for the story lineplease commence ripping apart my theory like you have to the restor agreeing it is plausible

Unless Halo Reach completely disregarded canon i don't really think this would happen. The innies stay the hell out of everyone's business once the covenant show up.

The Spartans weren't sent to Reach to fight Innies, they were just sent to board the Pillar of Autumn to prep for their mission (to go behind Covenant lines and capture a Prophet and a Covenant ship, possibly from High Charity). Minutes before they jumped to slipspace, the Covenant attacked.
Yea they were sent there to Hold the Covenant Invasion of Reach

That doesnt make sense ethier why would they make you fight rebels especially since the Trailer showed the Planet being Glassed so im assuming the game will take place during the Invasion
I doubt it... the Chief (and presumably the rest of the Spartans) for their Mk V armor on the surface of Reach on August 29. Reach fell the next day. If it was before this, we would have the Mk IV, and then the gameplay would be too transitional between no shields to shields (what would be the point of starting the fight with Innies anyway?)
that wouldn't make since since its a prequel and the battle for reach lasted for about an hour at most(at least that's what I'm thinking) as a prequel to halo any way

Oh yeah It's Rayzed.
Do you really think that the innies would want to fight the UNSC while the Covenant is murdering every human they see.
in cole protocol they didn't care they didn't like keyes even after there main planet was destroyed by the covenant
Posted by: DuardoI'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.Luckily I have Pikachu.
There were no insurrectionists at Reach, all of the insurrectionists were located in the outer colonies. Reach would be the worst planet for the insurrectionists to attack since they would literally get owned by the UNSC.
as i said on my original post as in begging of the book of harvest they attacked a space cruise liner on reach(pg127).im going to get back to my book harvest [Edited on 06.26.2009 8:53 PM PDT]
