Some flaws still occur if you take in "physics" into account. Dual wieldable weapons are able to be shot from a single hand because they have less recoil. In turn making it less powerful. If you keep the power of a single wield weapon, increasing reticule size is not going to fix it. Sure, and increased reticule size would decrease the accuracy, but that is not the point. The Spartan's hands would be flopping around more so than the already do with two SMG's.

Possible solution: More hop-up?

I don't understand. Just because I am holding a gun with one hand the bullets do less damage? That makes no logical sense whatsoever.

There already is more hop-up. But the thing is that any player can just counter-act that by looking down. By decreasing the accuracy, you are making it less effective at range. In Halo 1, two plasma rifles being shot at someone is deadly. Could you imagine that power in the hands of one person?

Decreasing accuracy gives the impression that the weapons are weaker. But they still have really good power.

The second to last sentence proves my point. Weapons should not require a beat down to kill someone quickly. And they should have good medium range.

I like dual wielding the way it is. You have two guns, you shoot them at a target. Depending how good your aim is, they hit or miss. And you can even use dual weildable weapons on their own and they're still good. Couple them with a beat down. Always grab a single Spike if I find one, it's better than the AR.

You should think of them as a tool rather than a weapon then. A tool to remove the other player's sheilds. After that you can choose to keep shooting to kill them, or if using a plasma weapon it would be best to beat down since they do less flesh damage.

dual wielding is cool and powerfull. with 1 SMG you have a ton of recoil, but have you ever noticed that when you dual wield SMG's that recoil is reduced.

A weapon is a tool to kill. They should not require a melee to get a kill. A melee/grenade should be a means to quickly finish the person off. Not something you need to do if you want to kill them before they BR you.

I don't know how that would work out to be honest.

energy sword+jackle sheild would be deadly but other than that I don't see why dual weilding swords would be necessary.

I think what he is saying is that halving the accuracy won't do it...
