That Foman guy freaking hates me.

ok im not trying to make a new point this is more of a question.
i dont use the halo3:ODST forum much so if this has allready been covered i apologise : )

i was reading an article about how john (master chief) was trained (i cant purchase the books here, its hard to find them.) and here is what it read.

At the age of 14, John underwent the dangerous process of SPARTAN-II Augmentation Procedures that caused most of the Spartan candidates to die, or be physically disabled. John was one of 33 Spartans who made it through the process unscathed, while the rest who could still operate were sent for jobs in the Office of Naval Intelligence. At only 14 years old, it is said that John had a body of an 18 year old Olympic athlete, the augmentation process gave the Spartans faster reflexes, greater strength, better eyesight and made their bones near unbreakable.

if dare was a failed spartan maybe that is why she has recon. she is an employee of ONI has a spartan helmet and is pointed out by an ODST officer in on of the novels who doesnt recognise the helmet she is wearing : )

here is an article from an in depth theory on ODST before much was known about the game.
if you read close to the bottom of this article you will see a clip of the actual novel that has a femaleONI oficer and odst officers discussing her armour

http://blog.ascendantjustice.com/october-20-2552-part-i/

i cant say im sure, this is simply a theory i would like other peoples ideas on this please.

thanks a lot.
and please no flaming on people here. i cant stand the egotists that lurk here.

[edit]-if you wish to see the same people posting the same answer over and over again read on my friend.
bad topic that got stomped out by repetative kids with not that much conclusive evidence.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

that is a good theory and i agree with most of it what i dont like is how everybody thinks that recon was spartans armor 1st it was in fact ODST's armor 1st but refitted for spartans 2's. the same goes for most of the spartan armor we have to choose. and a fail spartan is like a dead spartan or a parapaligeck (joe swanson from family guy) or a vegetable.... Dare could be a failed spartan and she could not be a failed spartan.

Dare can't be a failed Spartan, she would either be mentally unfit for combat service or so physically broken she doesn't look human anymore. Its understandable that you do not have the books, so you are forgiven.

i posted it in the reach forum by accident.
"im reporting you to bungie be-cuz mabeez they gives me recon 4 B their pet"

and to the other posts about her not being able to be a failed spartan, as the paragraph states "the rest who could still opperate were sent for jobs in the ONI."
i didnt realise that this was written incorrectly when i posted this and fully understand it is wrong now
thanks for the feedback.

also i assumed that recon was a spartan helmet as it is far too big for Dare and have only seen spartans wear it, as well as the fact that ODST's don't recognize it : )
thanks again.

Well, you certainly proved yourself there. Craving for attention...I reported the post because it seemed you had posted it twice. The discussion is already over and proven wrong a billion times and you posted again.

Dare isn't a failed Spartan.
1. No physical enhancements at all.
2. Not even "very athletic" like other Spartans would be without enhancement.
3. Non-combat Spartans were sent to ONI. Hint: NON COMBAT.

Don't try and call yourself in the right.

seven posts does not ammount to a billion. im pretty sure you're a minor.
i didnt try to make out i was in the right i explained my reasons for getting this idea.
secondly my response to your reporting this thread was simply to show that the first time i posted this it was in the incorrect forum and so i moved it. i am not seeking attention unlike you who actually posts when he reports threads, does everyone need to know that you are reporting?
childish.
you're report was pointless as i have not broken any rules or waverd from the code of conduct.
i wont bother giving another response to any further remark you make here, you're ego is huge enough : )
to the fact of being proven wrong, i'd like to add my theory was proven wrong by someone far before you posted, i stated i had not read the novels and was unsure which makes proving me wrong not much of an achivement and that you cant be sure on anything about dare because
A. you have not played through halo 3:ODST
B.no information is readily available about her.
which surely means you cant say she is not in good physical shape and has no enhancements ;)
thanks to all intelligent members who posted. : )

Those that failed the augmentations were crippled. It either went right, killed you, or caused you to lose control of most of your body. There's no way your going into battle after that, let alone using a drop pod. They were all in wheelchairs. The failed spartans all went into areas where they could still use their brains to hep the military, but wouldn't have to do much moving around.

a little late but many thanks never the less : )
if you read the quote of what i read through originaly you will see that it states "the rest who could still operate were sent for jobs in ONI." which leads one to beleive that their bodies still functioned but they were not spartan material. this is a misleading peice of text i guess : )

You clearly don't know the rules. Posting a topic twice = spam.

You can't "move" a topic, you double-posted it. And helping out isn't being a suck-up. That's why the button's there.

If you want to move a topic, PM a mod, they'll actually move it. And the fact remains that the theory had already been disproved very clearly.

Still operate means still being capable of mental functions. As stated in Fall of Reach "They may not be soldiers, but they still have sharp minds." The ONI Spartans plan missions and such, and do not engage in combat.

  • 06.27.2009 7:18 AM PDT

There were three categories of Spartans after the augmentation process.
1. The dead. They died, simple as that.
2. The physically handicapped. The augmentation process was too hard on their bones, muscle tissue, etc. They still had their minds though and were offered "behind the front line" jobs at ONI.
3. The Survivors. The Spartans that got through the augmentation process with full use of their minds and bodies (for the most part). Remained on active duty until their deaths.

If Dare was #2, she would be incapable of moving properly without aid. In the trailer, she is walking completely upright with no aid. As well, she (presumably) survived the drop in her HEV. Dare is not a washed up Spartan. Case closed.

yes i understand that now but reading it for the first time operate could have meant anything and comes accross as meaning physical as before that it is stated that some are crippled or die and as i have stated i do not own the novels and have not read them. this is based on evidence from the web and i now agree that this is unlikely.
but still possible as anything can be written in and there are also suggestions of split off-unknown spartans for halo reach. which seem verry plausable. i am not trying to argue i am right anymore, not even that i may be right : )
thanks to all who posted..... except that one idiot ; )

i said i wouldnt reply, the rules state- no double posting, (posting one reply after another)spamming. the act of posting the same thing over and over-which in this case does not apply as i am not advertising and have not posted to the same forum. as well as stating in the reach post why i have moved it and apologising for inconvinience : )
by moving this myself i have not broken either of these rules.
also my thread remains, further evidence of my point.
please stop trying to prove you are right when it has been proven a 'billion' times you arent. ;)

i am busy to read the book 'halo Fall of reach' and i think its not possible.
al 75 subjects where in the project of Dr Halsey and got a sort of medicine, 33 where unscathed and the rest died or could barley operate. An example was a guy that had barley a bone structure anymore.

and besides that, when the spartan II project was busy on the subjects john and the others never even heard of the Mjolnir project.

If I'm right. You had to actually be physically disabled to not be a sparten. By the looks of Dare, nothing is wrong with her.

posting a topic twice IN THE SAME FORUM= spam, also multiple off topic posts in a topic are spam hence you are spaming.

as for moving a topic, you are an idiot if you really think you PM a Mod to do it. no, you post in the other topic: THIS HAS BEEN MOVED, and then YOU move the topic yourself.

and even if his point has been disproved(it hasn't FYI it has been discouraged) the discussion can continue. you are sucking up, as you're reporting is hypocritical, as you are reporting, and 'feeding the issue' by essentially bumping a post. if you report the rules say DON'T POST IN THE TOPIC

it's you who are breaking the rules, and should read them again.
