I'm sure you guys remember the infamous threads in the Halo 3 forum some time ago requesting a brute option in multiplayer. While the idea wasn't totally unpopular, the general consensus was it couldn't happen for various reasons.
But by the looks of things, Reach will feature its own version of multiplayer, rather than just incorporating Halo 3's as ODST will. Why would it need a beta test if it's the same thing we have in Halo 3? So assuming it is all new, I guess Bungie will be adding new armours for Spartans and Elites (if they feature in the multiplayer, which I think is a safe bet), considering how obsessive the fanbase is about that type of thing. Why not add Brutes as a player model too, alongside Spartans and Elites? They are closer to Spartans in stance and build than Elites, so if anything they would make the game more balanced.
When requests for the implementation of brutes came before, they were met with the usual arguments from retards who couldn't be bothered to read the threads, and presumptuously concluded they would use the Halo 3 campaign model. "Too big", "no shields" and other such points were made.
Obviously the model would have to be changed to incorporate it into multiplayer. I suggest the following alterations:
-Scale the model to the size of a Spartan
-Give them regenerating shields, and remove armour disintegration
-Map them to a Spartan hitbox
In other words, this Brute player model would play exactly like a Spartan with a Brute "skin". So what do you think? Would you like a Brute model in multiplayer, alongside Spartans and Elites? How can more choice for customisation be a bad thing?
