No big deal to me... I'm not a fan of smoking, and it's not like it will affect the gameplay.

It's a matter of character. In this case, bad ass, alien killing, chain smoking character.

Thanks for choosing to whine over being a productive member of the community and possible element towards advancing Reach.

It's kinda of an iffy thing. It'll be in the game for sure, but just to cover themselves they probably took it off the cover just to be sure.

As you can see, Sgt. Johnson is not smoking anything on that cover

It may be that marketing laws say that you can not encourage young people, or anyone, to smoke by portraying someone smoking on the cover of a game. Even BUNGIE seems to be cowering under this law.

However, could it be that Sgt. Johnson won't have a cigar in the full game? Will he? Will there be an option to have a cigar on him or not? (Possibly have the cigar toggled via the 'Helmet ON/OFF' option?)

I don't know man, I don't know.

I saw a video from E3 where you can take off the ODST's helmets.

This made me wonder what are they going to do for Johnson? Will we be able to remove his hat/cigar.

There's always an insult for me:
You lose: You're a bk, bad, etc.
You win: You're a tryhard, cheater.

It's rated M so legally they're covered.

Society is turning into a bunch of soft pansies. That's what I've believed for quite some time now.

I completely agree with this. That and I think that the human race is becoming very uninteligent.

Lol @ the bottom of the box that says the REACH beta is a "limited time offer" just marketing BS i suppose.

Actually, that much is true.

For one week in a undesignated time, early 2010 people are guessing, the main menu for Halo 3: ODST will flash with a new option ''Halo: Reach Beta"

Indeed, it's a limited time offer lasting only a week or so.

The beta will last for a week? Or the INVITATION to the beta will last a week, and then the beta will continue?

And, how do you know this??
