i agree that this needs to happen.
in addtion though, i believe that the death animations should be improved as well. for example, in h3, when a hornet died, it either gently fell to earth or it dropped like a brick. there needs to be a way for one of the engines to be shot out and it sprials into the ground(see helocopter crashes)
this could also work with the following vehicles:

Warthog:
it could spin out or a tire could pop making it flip end over end

banshee:
it could lose one of the antigravity pods and spiral out of control like a plane going down

mongoose:
see warthog

for the rest:
be creative

this sums up what we were talking about it would be great to have physics like this.

// UNSC Database - ODST Fire Teams • [Operation: Twilight Zone] • Mission: Classified - Fire Team Xenon...
- X01... KIA
- X10... KIA
- X25... KIA
- X51... MIA

But this is the future guys, where tires will obviously be indestructable, drrrrrr

It would be a cool feature but if they do put it in then they should definitely add an option to turn it off as well. Nothing bugs me more in racing games that also use the damage system then barely touching a wall and suddenly having a barely driveable car.

if it was a option no one would have it on because the people with it off would have a greater advantage

by option he meant in custom games, not like in the actual options page
