Subject: Why Boats cant be in halo 2.

The reason that they could not put a boat in halo 2 is because you would not be able to drive one. I as a boater, know that a boat can olny hold a certain amount ot weight. The MC as you all know, ways more then half a ton. And seriously, the only boat that can hold that is a yact, and it wouldn't be that fun driving around in a big bulky yact.

Halo 2 is 500 years in the future I'm sure a speed boat could hold MC.

Meh, it could be an "on-rail" mission like in Call of Duty, be it using your own weapons or some large cruiser's turrets and missle launchers, running from gun to gun and killing the covenant as they try to board your craft.

Boats? Why would you need boats in the future when you could fly?

#1. It's a game. I don't want to discuss weight ratios for a game
#2. It's the future. Maybe boats are improved so that they can hold a lot.
#3. It's not like Bungie is going to put a little air-filled dingey in Halo 2 and call it a military boat. It will probably be some huge floatable tank thing that fires big missles.

Maybe because anti air positions are too concentrated for Skyhawks or Long swords to attack?

weight has nothing to do with it, They float tons of cargo across the ocean today. Bungie just didn't want to concur the challenge of having water physics in this game, maybe in the next they will . Why float when you can fly?

i dont think you would want the MC driving a cargo ship, but a lighter speedier boat. and yes, weight does have lots to do with it.

If you want boats, go play bloodwake, or whatever that game was called. That's what Halo2 with boats would remind me of... (that game sucked)

U-boats

Once again, you cant drive a U boat, nor would you want to. Maybe the turret, but not what fans are talking about.

sure a ski skiff would be to small but a decent speed boat or fore mention gunboat wouldn't have a problem. U boats were wood vessels and carried heavy torpedoes.

Hydrofoils can make a huge difference too. The tech we have today would make it possible to have what has been mentioned then add ontop the 500 years of technology.

Actually, by then they will have discovered some way to defy the laws of boyancy.

It's a GAME. You had no trouble with the banshee (or Pelican) hovering...or for that matter, space travel, plasma weapons, aliens, or powerups. All of which are more unrealistic.

1) those are covies, and we know jack -blam!- about how they work
2) There are logical reasons for the human stuff. We all see how the pelican works.

How does the Pelican work? It does not blow ample air for a hover cushion, or else it'd blow everybody away every time they exit the craft. And other than the books, how would anybody know MC weighs more than half a ton? He could easily weigh 300 lbs. from appearance.

U boats were wood vessels and carried heavy torpedoes.

A u-boat is classified as a fast underwater attack boat their main weapon was the deck gun not torpedoes

Why do we need them now? we can fly now can't we? The reason is secrecy. Other things could effect a radar in the ocean. In one of my halo mission log stories, we had boats and airplanes. I think I edited the boats out though... Oh well, I though the boats would be cool, I love boats, Hikaru 119 didn't like that idea though..

well i think with the laws of bouyancy (dont know howto spell it right lol) to be able to shoot the covies from the distance you would need to be would be insufficiant enough to aim very well with a machine gun or anything besides the sniper because bouyancy means the weight of the water around and object has to weight more than the object that is in it... or something like that cant remember what my teacher was talking about when i was thinking about halo... lol

It's buoyancy. Buoyancy in general has to do with water displacement. It is (currently) possible to make a fast boat capable of carrying 1,000+ pounds. I do not think boats in Halo2 would add to the gameplay...mainly because all the Covenant I have ever met are on the LAND. But anything is possible.

Blech its the future, and a game, so maybe your right, but its still so farfetched.
