well they talked about improving the water physics and weather so you never know if they are gonna put a boat in or not although they discuss about the new vehicle they made. So dont say it hasnt unless Bungie has confirmed or not.

I think that they would be passed the boating era in 500 years or so.

We have'nt passed the boating era in 4000yrs, why does 500yrs mean they will suddenly become obsolete? You have to remember boats may not be the fastest, the most advanced vehicle they just happen to be the most RELIABLE on the water. A boat allows for quick insertion of forces into an area that has heavy anti-air batteries. SEAL teams still use boats and dds(diver delivery system) to go places today, and we have hovercraft and vtol tech now, like the Osprey. Boats will probably allways be with us, whether they are in Halo 2 remains to be seen.

Yeah I don't think boats will be obsolete in 500 years but however in 500 yrs they may not look like boats more like hovercrafts perhaps or water speeders if you will.

Dudes, they still have cars.. I doubt that boats will be obsolete. And an army boat would easilly hold the MC... I hightly doubt that he would be driving an inflatible one.

and i doubt that he'll be driving an army boat. The only boats that i know about that the army has are big as ships, and the MC wouldn't want to drive one of those.

because I will say this ONE LAST TIME!!!!!!!!!!

There is NOT always a flying vehicle around!!!!!!!!!!! Also the covenant dominate the air, you go ahead and fly all you want while covie cruisers float about and ill take a quick, low profile boat.

considering that Earth is covered by close to 70% of water I wouldn't doubt that large troop movements would want to keep out of the air, + the fact that the covie's are glassing CONTINENTS and LANDMASSES, then it would be a safe bet to travel or insert troops with water craft.

to the person who was stating that there would be no craft available to hold the Master Chief's bulk - you apparently have been locked inside a box your whole life with a picture of an inflatible kids boat to idle away your time. u know nothing of boats. there are hundreds if not thousands of variants of water-attack craft to choose from.

I dont care if the boats are there in halo 2 or not. its just when people have lack-lustre theories (at best) that 'there is no such boat to hold 500kgs of weight' that I begin to laugh..........I laugh at you.

also hydro-dynamics is quite a young feild of physics. you wouldn't think so, but scientists dont know a great deal about water, the only thing they are sure about its that it is eletrically and magnetically repulsive unto itself, and without it there would be no life as we know it.

It is a tad brash to think that in 500 years time that there wont be craft, made from nano-manufactured fibres and constructed with hydro-dynamic effiency in mind, that will make craft lighter and faster. also, bouyancy is effected by surface area and weight distribution, get your facts right.

Ok let's say they do have boats! Halo 2 has destructible vehicles remember?! What happens when you have to bail the boat huh? You are going to swim. I think there is a pretty good chance they won't have swim controls . Especially underwater...because they suck (e.g. Ninja Gaiden)! Besides having boats would bring another ton of problems like having complex water geometry react with more than one vehicle and environment and having to add it to the multiplayer which would make it look like C.rap since they have to tone down dramatically! It just would not be very feasible and, to my opinion not as fun as it sounds.

or what about a gigantic turtle that is made out of cheese and shots fireballs. it could melt a nice tasty treat for the chief while he is slaughtering covie hoards.

perhaps the gigantic turlte-thing needs some pokemon master to get it out of its capsule first though.........

man its boring not having any new halo 2 info from bungie.
