considering that Earth is covered by close to 70% of water I wouldn't doubt that large troop movements would want to keep out of the air, + the fact that the covie's are glassing CONTINENTS and LANDMASSES, then it would be a safe bet to travel or insert troops with water craft.
to the person who was stating that there would be no craft available to hold the Master Chief's bulk - you apparently have been locked inside a box your whole life with a picture of an inflatible kids boat to idle away your time. u know nothing of boats. there are hundreds if not thousands of variants of water-attack craft to choose from.
I dont care if the boats are there in halo 2 or not. its just when people have lack-lustre theories (at best) that 'there is no such boat to hold 500kgs of weight' that I begin to laugh..........I laugh at you.
also hydro-dynamics is quite a young feild of physics. you wouldn't think so, but scientists dont know a great deal about water, the only thing they are sure about its that it is eletrically and magnetically repulsive unto itself, and without it there would be no life as we know it.
It is a tad brash to think that in 500 years time that there wont be craft, made from nano-manufactured fibres and constructed with hydro-dynamic effiency in mind, that will make craft lighter and faster. also, bouyancy is effected by surface area and weight distribution, get your facts right.
