Your ideas suck, stop posting your stupid polls with (even though I told you not to and why) more than two answers to a simple question. Ive been reading your 'weapon stats' and they're pathetic.

COD has ruined Halo enough with all the grenades which are now being spammed across the maps all the time. All it will do is take the 'power' out of 'weapon power' and turn the whole game into some noobfest where anyone can get kills, just like COD.

If they ever did this I would never buy the game, and Id bet half the community wouldnt either, so its not going to happen.

I agree, but it was just a suggestion. I was actually thinking someone would agree with this idea and maybe explain how this would work if it could. If anyone does agree with this idea please explain how this would work. I don't like COD either, but I do think if some traits of Halo and COD or any other game like COD would make a great combination. Like making overshields and active camo equipment like the Arbiter's active camo from Halo 2.

Class based games like COD are nothing like Halo. This is HALO: Reach. A class based game would alter the basics around Halo Multiplayer gameplay which has been arguably the most succesful FPS MP ever.

Okay... MAYBE, in MP, you could have a limited amount of actual equipment customization. Otherwise, ppl would be spawning with snipers and rockets and -blam!- all ova the place. Maybe something like this:

Armors= different armor bonuses for each armor.

Customize screen:

Weapons
Equipment (if allowed in gametype)
Grenades (only 1 of everything except frags)
Armor
Color
Color secondary
Emblem
Emblem Secondary



Equip screen: (all example)
MA5B, BR 55 explosive rounds

Bubble Shield

Frag Grenades (2)

Overshield (as an unlockable)

Default classes:

Soldier(Human):

MA5B, Trip Mine, BR 55

Frag Grenades

Sniper:
SRS990C2 Sniper Rifle anti-personnel rounds, pistol normal rounds

A class based Halo game, simply put, would ruin the fun that the entire Halo series is known for. I, along with others, are strongly opposed to it, although for Campaign, it may not be a bad idea. 4 player Co-op, each person picks a class, but co-op is only unlocked after a successful single player runthrough.

This could still work!!! It's just Halo and classes are hard to mix. I know COD's class system probably wouldn't work. You have to come up with your own version.

Team Fortress 2 is just one example of multiple games that have properly done the character classes. Though I don't particularly think that there should be set classes, I do believe that the armor should have different statistics, I.e. weight, speed, special abilities (less likely to be stuck by grenades, increased zoom with rifles, etc.).

That could work as long as they made it right. Because if it would to mess up Bungie would loose a lot of money and not to mention they would have to make in a Halo way. Or they could make it so the armor type u choose is something like that. What I mean is like the armor u choose would make u stronger with cretin weapons depending what type armor piece you have on. That would make more since so it won't be like Call of Duty but it would be in a Halo way. : )

maybe, it would be cool if you could chose your primary weapen and side arm. For the primary weapens, you could chose between the BR, the AR, the Carbine and the Plasma rifle. For the side arm, you could chose between the normal pistol and the plasma pistol.

you all dont contribute to this thread at all, i mean, IMO class based halo is not that good idea, but please say more than "your and idiot" or "its not halo" or comparing this idea to CoD, CoD isnt the only game that does classes, Battlefield does it too, just actually give a reason why you think its a bad idea, not just NO and stuff, just saying NO and your dumb for thinking that is flaming IMO.

the reason i think its bad idea is even though classes are fun, it just wouldn't be goo in halo, considering the fact that spartans can use all weapons, they aren't just trained to use a sniper or a machine gun, regular humans are, so if halo reach were about playing as regular humans then id say yes, but im pretty sure, just as much of the halo community is, that halo reach will feature us playing as spartans

I have played and beaten all 3 of the Halo games. I only played Halo 3 online though. The class system I posted above shouldn't change realy change Halo at all. You would choose your character model only this time Spartan, Elite, or Brute. They all have some different statistics, but they're not a big deal. You would change status like health and speed by adding or taking away armor from your model, but they would change between the given ranges like this(Health: 115-125%).

The class system I listed isn't even really classes just character models with some uniqe traits. They have different starting weapons that's all. You still run around pick up weapons and do whatever it's basically the same gameplay. Except you won't want to get too close to a Brute, and Spartans are quick. I don't care if you take sprinting away. This could really make for some fun and interesting gameplay. Matchmaking may end up a little more like custom games because you can change your stats based on how much armor you put on. Stats still wouldn't change that much though.

to the people you keep saying that- yes halo was revolutionary and yes it was a great game, but thats just it. keyword: was.

and even if you think its great how it is, that doesn't mean that the majority of halo gamers do, halo: CE was great, halo 2 was good, halo 3 was okay,

halo3:ODST- it'll probably bring halo back to great, because of the new options like playing as ODSTs and firefight,

halo:reach, i assure you that if its the same, itll be just another halo game, which will bring it down to crap,

it may be fun for a week or two cause of new maps, and campaign, but if the gameplay and features are the same as halo 3, halo 2, or even halo: CE, then it wont do good,

trust me when i say that halo will not live forever, one day someone will make a sci-fi shooter that'll blow everyones minds away, and people will say, "i remember suggesting that for halo: reach, too bad bungie didnt listen, too bad they made it the same as all the other halos"

Ah i see, its almost the same thing i suggest, with armor abilitys and resistences and such, i have the best way to implement that in my topic, there would be sparatan elite and brute, spartan could be overall(or faster)elite could be faster but little weaker(or overall)and brute could be tankish but slower then everyones armor abilitys would increase other things, but very basic(and balenced) things HALO STYLE no grenade launchers on rifles like COD, still the list of ideas i have gotton from tons of players is only (forceful) suggestion to try and get bungie to notice, we cant control them, only presuade them
