Subject: Halo 3 ODST - Inaccurate?

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

In the novel "Halo: Fall of Reach", in one chapter it says "Corporal Harland grunted under the exertion of lifting the Fuel Rod Gun, and Grace relieved him of the too-heavy weapon."

If this is so, shouldn't an ODST move slower while carrying a Fuel Rod Gun? In gameplay videos, it shows you moving at normal speed.

If you would like to hear the list of the ways technologies have failed to make life easier, press 3

and you can just give em to the marines in Halo 3

hmm, they make up for their stupidity with brawn

hmm, but if it were a perfectly inverse relationship between intelligance and strength, all the marines would be stronger than spartans.....

^_^ Good one!

Halo has a very self-conflicting universe.

Design differences, possibly...Harland was part of the Battle for Sigma Octanus, it takes place roughly nine months before H3 ODST. So, it's is quite possible that the new version is much lighter.

You know, there are some things that you just have to accept as being a result of being a video game. This is one.

There were no Fuel Rod Wielding ODST's that I saw. But if you mean the Splazer, which is a human weapon, it is understandable, seeing as how it is a... Human weapon.... And ODST's are humans...

It's the methane, man. Super Strengths is only one trait. The ability to make us laugh at the most awkward times, and to make us have weird inside jokes that will make sure we don't ever get talked to by the opposite sex again are two of my favorites.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

There are several changes in the games that are made for the sake of gameplay. If you wanted to split hairs technically MC is nothing like a Spartan is in the novels. His abilities need to be limited for the sake of good gameplay.

That's all that is going on here. The thing that got me was that in one of the video's i've seen an ODST is walking around with a turret, now that just shouldn't happen.

Books tie into games alot. But what does that have to with ANYTHING?

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

Why do people keep on posting threads about ''But this isnt real'' or ''This weapon is too heavy for ODST's.'' Like alot of people have mentioned it's a video game, which is more concentrated on gameplay and the enjoyment of us rather than the realism because a gun is too heavy. The splaser is heavy...The fuel rod looks a bit heavier. And regular humans can carry Splasers. E.g. Johnson in the mission Halo from Halo 3.

Oh look what you did.... Johnson is possibly a spartan. So ya, he can carry a Splazer.

Johnson isnt a spartan...

Edit: Also when you swap weapons with marines, you can give them any weapon... I dont know about the GH though. And no turrets.

Not the ones you think of. There are there known types of Spartans. S-I II and II. Johnson is thought by many to be a Spartan I. Along with people like CPO Mendez who helped train the chief and many others.

I may repeat again Johnson isn't a proper spartan like MC.
