Now it has not been verified yet, but if Halo 3 ODST can be installed to your HDD do you think that it will improve FPS, Anti Aliasing, Draw Line, etc?

Now Halo 3 ODST comes with 2 discs.
Would it be possible that installing Halo 3 ODST disc # 2 allow us to play Halo 3 ODST with only one disc, disc # 1?

Installing the first disc would improve the campaign overall. However do not install the second disc which includes Halo3's multiplayer and firefight.

I would love to be able to do that but there is always the problem of piracy.

GT: Chaotic Peace

I'm sure you'll still need to have disc 2 in the tray to play it

PEANUT-BUTTER SLAP!

The point of installing a game to your HDD is to decrease loading times. I don't think it does anything else.

No.

Not exactly true. Installing the first disc would only make load times faster because technically, a hard drive can load files a lot quicker than a DVD-ROM can read a disk (The reason why Halo 3 isn't suggested to install the disk is because the game files are built into the map (UI, Campaign, Multiplayer, what ever. It all has it's own textures / models on the map to reduce the need to load unneeded textures and models.)) It wouldn't make the quality of the files any higher though, because it literally IS the same files that you had before on the disk. It could, however, raise the frame rate. But that would kind of be pushing it.

However, Halo 3: ODST's Disk 2 is literally Halo 3, without the Campaign. Hmm... looks like you'll be running into that same issue here. Even if Bungie were to fix this issue, it would disable the compatibility between Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST Disk 2 (Defeating the purpose of having it.)

Oh, and BTW Firefight is on Disk 1.

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

All the installing is making it faster. Not playing without a disc.

Yes. Disc 2 just has a recycled Halo 3 Multiplayer and all the map packs.

Also to everyone who said Firefight is in disc one, then I suggest nobody installs the game into the HDD because Firefight is a form of online multiplayer so it would cause the same problems as with Halo 3.

Naw dood.
"Q. You told us not to use NXE to copy Halo 3 to the Xbox 360 hard drive. You fixed that for Halo 3: ODST, right?

A. Yup. Well, I didn't. Mat Noguchi and a crew of awesome dudes did. Awesome. Dudes. You'll be able to copy the Halo 3: ODST campaign disc directly to your hard drive if you want to. We still recommend that you do not do so with the secondary disc."
