-blam!- the Free World!!!!

Okay, from the looks of it, ODST's Firefight mode seems to be a refreshing installation to the Halo trilogy and many people want a beta released so they can check it out early. Unfortunately, there is no beta planned (sad face) but there is still a way to get a taste of it. All you have to do is take out Halo 2, bruch the dust off of it, and select Cario Station or Outskirts and select either Heroic or Legendary. On Cario Station, there are many different areas (especially the parts where the boarding ships dock) to get a sort of firefight feel. On Outskirts, the one part of the level where the Hunters come is definitely a sort of what you can expect of firefight and I highly recommend it!

Comment below on your thoughts of firefight and what you do to prepare to drop.

I love you stosh.

I have done this for the past two weeks. I use the Magnum and Smidge (SMG) because of the similarity to ODST.

Yeah, but Halo 3 has a different feel from Halo 2.

Good idea but the truth of the matter is that Halo3:ODST will feel much different than Halo:2.You really can't do anything to get the real feel of firefight. If you really want to get a feel of what firefight will be like then try this.

Try designing an infection gametype were the Zombies have unlimited lives but the humans only have 1 per round. Also make it so the humans sheild's don't recharge and there is leach so when the zombies shoot you, they get more health. This way as you fight off more and more hordes of zombies it will feel like it's getting harder.

Hope this helped!

This, and act stealthy while using pistol and smg while you're doing it, will be the closest thing you will get.

Golf Wang. Brony.

From Bad Cyborg: the AA gun megabattle. Simply kill all the UNSC when you get to the warehouses and not the Covenant. Run past the Brute Chieftain and towards the AA gun to get a checkpoint. Read up on it here. 52 covies waiting to be fried.

Tsavo Highway, rally point alpha. The perfect place to get your pre-Firefight fix. You have Grunts at the start and jumppack Brutes, you have tactical sniping positions, good weapon placement, and a base to keep a stronghold. get a hold of 3 friends and duke it out on Legandary, 20+ Brutes are out for you and a Wraith will attempt to shell you no matter where you are.

Turn it down to Normal and round up a squad of UNSC from the start of the level for an epic feel. If my 360 wasn't dead I would have written an entire blog devoted to these sorts of shenanigains.

Want Firefight? Play Tsavo Highway. Any questions, you can ask me and I'll try to help you by memory.

Now, I thought of this to.

Give the humans pistol and SMG.Give the infected plasma pistol and plasma rifle.I think a good map to do a firefight scenario would be High Ground due to the fact that High Ground has a slopped hill that leads up to a base where you could spawn the ODST's.Make the infected spawn at the beach and you have to fight them off with your weapons.

I might actually make a gametype and map for this.If I do then I'll post the link to the game and map on this thread.

That part of the level is what got me into Halo, fun stuff. Phantom drop-offs and Drone swarms are crazy fun, great on Heroic (Legendary has stupid spawning).

The key to the experience is to let the confrontations just play out, all relaxation. You aren't out to out-BR grunts and quad-shot Brutes. Actually, ditch the BR in Campaign anyway if you want your fix.

[Property of Keyes86]

In my opinion the best place would actually be in Halo on Truth and Reconciliation (third level).

At the bottom of the grav lift.
On Legendary (there are more enemies)
Even more fun if you do the glitch to get 10 marines

If anything, I think this would best capture the chaos of firefight.
Especially since you can't dual wield, and the grav lift constantly sends down waves of enemies.
There's also an Apparition drop off at the beginning of the fight.

Halo 3 is closer to ODST than Halo 2 is. They used the Halo 3 engine, and all of it's guns, excluding some, adding some.

Hmm... good ideas I'll have to check them out!

And BTW Halo 2 has "harder" difficulties than Halo 3 and you can't just rush in like you can in Halo 3
