He's pointing out the fact that natal if implemented at all would most likely be used to toggle switches pick up items etc....NOT to have someone running around their living room pretending to hold a gun...why is everyone so scared of change ?! sometimes it's GOOD ! whenever bungie mentions any small change 99%of the forum fills with people declaring their hatred for bungie and halo and talking some BS about never playing halo which we all know is a load of crap...get over it people...you don't KNOW what they can do with natal yet and you don't even know what the game LOOKS like...so stop making assumptions and spazzing about things you know nothing about >_<

I was making a point, I didn't think you would have to run in place to run on the game.

To make it clearer i'm just saying that Halo is it's own game, it is great, changing any aspect of the natural mechanics whould just ruin the experience.

To everyone saying it could be optional, you couldn't be more wrong. If a big feature is added to a game it can't be optional. The game is designed with the feature in mind. This means if you don't use it the game will not play right. So even though you don't have to use it the feature it is actually mandatory and is not optional. It just has the illusion of being optional

I would love to see what Bungie could do with Natal. It sounds interesting and if they use Natal well enough, they could essentially create a new break through with FPS's. Go Bungie!

well what about the beta since it will be using the 360 controller and if what your guessing may be true that means bungie will have to make 2 games essentially if it will ever be on natal

How do we know the Beta will use the 360 controller only?

Project Natal is a peripheral. Even the wii mote is. You can purchase a normal wii controller. I can't see Bungie going to far off the standard FPS model to incorporate Project Natal. I would say Bungie will go as far as they can with Natal until it begins to not feel like an FPS anymore. Bungie wouldn't want to lose the feel of their games otherwise people wouldn't want to buy them anymore. Again it's about money. Microsoft wants to get as much money as they can get. That would mean allowing for flexibility of the consumer.

What are you taling about? Without a wiimote you can't do anything on the wii as you can't open anything on the home menu. The wiimote is a controller.

To the OP, I love you.

I actually hope that Natal has an effect on the game, maybe something special for making machinima or something. Anything could be possible.

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

That's because the Wii was designed to use motion sensing equipment, the Xbox 360 was not. Most wii games allow you to use old Gamecube controllers, something microsoft will probably do with Natal, where you can choose whether to use Natal or a standard controller.

I'm agreed with this as long as Bungie or either Microsoft should make Natal optional for Halo: Reach

So, you want to hear a story eh? One about treasure hunters? Have I got a story for you!

This would be weird

Anatidaephobia
The fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.

Yeah I don`t think you will use Natal and control everything in the game, what would be cool though if you wanted to melee with a weapon you could make the motion with your controller.

I don't want to see any Halo game involve motion sensors, I completly prefer the normal controller, that's why I got rid of my wii and got a 360. *tear* I'm just not ready to move up yet.

Natal would be good for freeing up commands that we don't like. Maybe meleeing is actually swinging your controller and maybe talking to your allies can be activated by a strong nod or something. Y'know, ways to make the game easier to play in the sense that you don't have to click buttons for some of the controls.

I'm just hoping that Natal doesn't come out until some time after September thus verifying that Natal will be optional. Otherwise I'm worried.
