I'd rather not have the BR because it wasn't introduced until Halo2 and Halo Reach is before Halo Combat Evolved
and plus, I'd rather want to see what guns they had before Halo 1I don't get why people think having the BR in Reach is a canonical problem, it really isn't.
Burst fire works well online. It is awesome, makes you more accurate. You don't just spray and pray. You actually have calculated shots. You don't just fire off a thousand rounds in the direction of your opponent and hope for a kill, hope your bullets hit him more then his bullets hit you. Burst fire online isn't as accurate as single shot off-host, so I would rather whatever midrange accuracy gun is present (BR, Pistol, something new) would be single shot (like the BR in the H2 E3 2003 trailer) so we don't get lost bullets.
Oh, but you see with a single-fire weapon online, you are putting all your eggs in one basket. Take the brute shot, for example. It's easily my favorite weapon, but I've gotten 6 direct hits before without doing a lick of damage. Why? On my screen, I see the shot land, but it's actually missing, and to my knowledge, there is no refund system on that gun.
The advantage with the BR is, if you drop a bullet, since each is sent in its own packet, you still have two others that will likely land.
I can see positives and negatives to both systems. I like the burst fire, personally. The only thing I'm adamantly opposed to is a single-fire pistol with long-range capability, high power, and a zoom function.
